Getting Started

Hi Guys,
I keep searching but to no avail... basically I am looking to rig my entire house with PC speakers from 1 or more source. I don't really know where to start.
For starters, I am always curious when we go to computer speaker shop you see multiple speakers playing the same song, further looking around will lead you to a box where all the speakers are connected to it. Are those boxes for retail or are they custom made?
Of course for full rigging we'll need an amp. I am looking for ways to do it without the amps. Afterall comp speakers does not require high power.
Any ideas?

den juz use a Y splitter will do? assume you juz want to distribute to two speaker system? (since its PC speaker system.. so its a 3.5mm jack and with built in amp)
of course on a 47kohm standard termination, the signal voltage will be halved, but doesn't affect the perceived sound quality; juz need higher volume from source.
