Hello sifu's , just got myself a desire for christmas biggrin.gif

Rooted it immediately and installed neophyte rom , unfortunately, it seems to be more laggy compared to original froyo ?

Can someone recommend me the best rom in your opinion? ( In terms of speed / battery life / bug-free )

I've looked around and only tested neophyte after googling around.

Help much appreciated , Merry 3rd day of christmas everyone !

if you can leave the htc sense. may try MIUI. I'm using it, simple and fast. there is also other non-sense room also good, but I haven't try.
between speed and battery life, you control it by using SetCPU. set your own priority and governance rules.

Ohh, Thanks for your quick reply biggrin.gif

Will try that now. Any other recommendations are appreciated laugh.gif

Edit : Any idea how do i install Swype onto the desire?

To install swype just go to the swype web and join the beta  thumbup.gif  and about roms you can try Oxygen which is a gingerbread rom  brows.gif
Most of the forum members here who have tried it gave it good reviews especially about battery life with a few minor bugs i guess. If you wan HTC Sense
then try LeeDroid. Defrost is also another option if you want a Froyo AOSP rom. Have fun flashing!  rclxms.gif

Thanks for the input biggrin.gif,

Downloading leedroid as we speak ,

Is there a major difference in Gingerbread rom compared to Froyo?

I heard the Interface has been changed, more lag as well, though its not official for desire, so i guess the lag is normal .

Hey guys, what does Radio mean on LeeDroid's site? sad.gif

Added on December 29, 2010, 8:17 pmI can't root my Desire sad.gif... I can't find HBOOT USB....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788044
*
HBOOT USB - 1. Turn on phone by holding lower volume button and pressing power button .
2. There should be a word saying HBOOT ,
3. Plug in the MicroUSB Cable to your desire
4. HBOOT should be connected ,

Thats the steps, im not really sure though, just read here and there, laugh.gif

Hello ,

Currently im using Capdase Screenguard , as seen here http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid...id=994&pid=6618

I like the fingerprint and grease resistance on it , no more smudges on your screen rclxms.gif , its not as clear as those cheap ones , so its a sacrifice one must make , Clarity for Feel hmm.gif

Got it for RM 40 though, quite pricey .. but worth it , rather than getting tons of grease and smudges all over the screen with those cheap screen protectors until cannot wipe off shocking.gif .

Just my 2cents though, never tried other brands besides capdase yet hmm.gif

I compared the 'roughness' of the screen protector with the RM 10 matte ones, the matte ones clarity is alot worse compared to the capdase screenguard , ( Im not advertising tongue.gif) Theres some capdase one without IMAG tag on it that equals to the RM 10 matte screen protector exactly, but with a price tag of RM 35 ..

Theres a new one from capdase, IXMAG : Claims to be better than IMAG in terms of clarity for a matte screen protector,

will try that next time smile.gif

All sifu,I applied the matte screen protector anti fingerprint n notice that my screenlooked more blur than b4. Any idea bout tis. Any better option to intro me?
*
'Clearness' of the screen will definitely decrease, since the screen protector is matte ( abit rough , to reduce grease / fingerprints ) ,

Its a sacrifice the user must make, either for clarity or cleanliness blush.gif

Why is my Desire get hot at the back? 2 of my friends use theirs, never have this issue!

Now using LeeDroid 2.3c with latest radio 32.54.

Any comment about AuraxTsense? Said It's stable & not draining battery.
*
Its normal for the desire to get warm at the back , where the battery is . Actually, its normal for any smartphone, under high usage . to get warm .

This though should only happen when u are on GPS for a long time / Charging through wall charger / Any app that requires high cpu usage .

I'm using LeeDroid 2.3C with 32.49 radio, everything is good laugh.gif

Settling with leedroid until i learn more about backups and also waiting for stable gingerbread release whistling.gif

Btw, who thinks desire is a pretty phone? wub.gif , the more i look at it, the more i fall in love. like poison sweat.gif biggrin.gif

If u understand windows architecture then u know why ur transfer rate is slow... Every data will transfer not directly but the data will be travel from ur pc os then to the memory queing then to processor for processing then back to the memory then to the os then to ur hdd. But this is different with mac, mac can make direct data transfer, if u want to make the transfer fast, use mac instead.

alright biggrin.gif , thanks for the clarification, never knew there was such a thing till i read ur post . blush.gif

About task manager , no need for it! fully automated android system . biggrin.gif ,

When u hold the Home button a while, a list of recent apps will pop up , u cant close them , but u can access them there , Though on HTC Desire HD rom, u get the recent apps at the notification bar ( Super easy to switch between apps ! tongue.gif)

AP warranty 1 year, SIS warranty 2 years + 1 extra if u pay more tongue.gif

AP would usually do everything the same as SIS in terms of warranty, just the period of warranty that differs. Though , when u buy the phone, the seller may tell u that LCD is 1 month , Speaker 1 month, bla bla , and only the phone itself ( antenna , etc ) is 1 year. ( this is what i experienced from buying ap sets, not sure if it applies to smartphones though )

Unless of course, ur phone is "Water" set , which i think means stolen sets from the factories
