another home replacement app...cool app....
Go Launcher
*
Hie, Guys.

Been meaning to post for a while but just got time today... not to mention, forgetful me lost my pwd and had to create a new one.

@hazril - tested the Go Launcher. Not bad but missed the LP Pro after a couple of hours. Had the paid version so i could do much more with it. Not Jack Sparrow version... smile.gif ...(luv ur term, bro)

@finalzz - I tried both SupervillianHD & RCMixHD. If you are a minimalist, then go for the Villian ROM. It also has 2 versions with ADW & LP Pro. I am now permanently on RCMix and with LP Pro especially due to the Sense and HTC Hub.

@awiekupo - Am like hazril, and just plug in before going to sleep... biggrin.gif (luv ur nasi kukus)

@hakumiyashi - looks like you did not just strangled the apps to achieve the wonderful time but did you have your 3G off? Found that it makes a hugh difference in the battery life.

Some other things I can recall is I flashed the Radio to 32.49 but switched back to 32.48 due to unstable reception. Before 32.47 the battery really sucks. Recalibration really helps.

One last thing is to the "Serial Flashers", i found that it helps having ROM Manager installed. I could change in about 10-15mins.

download rom manager from market bro...easier to partition your sd...make sure you have backup everything that's on your sd to your pc/lappie...
its kinda new app...a refreshing idea compare to LPP... biggrin.gif

p/s : many like my new term... tongue.gif

Yes, like hazril said, the ROM Manager helps a lot in the backup, restore and flash new ROMs. Most of it automated too. Luv this Desire since I had it early this year. But my worry is busting the internal disk due to the many times flashing and reflashing... blush.gif

p.s. - @hazril - maybe we will just refer to you as hazril Sparrow.... rclxms.gif

@coldfission - there is a special thread for PVT4 on XDA... Hv you gone thru it? I believe they managed to resolve the issue...

1. I just flashed it separately as I already was on v0.12 and me being too lazy to redo the whole thing... wink.gif

2. I did not no any additional steps and it was running okey... then again how many times do i watch video on this baby anyway... biggrin.gif

3. Nowadays, I just used ROM Mgr for most of the things. Use the Titanium to get back apps separately... havent had much FCs as reported but keep updating it and should be fine.

4. Battery life?.. Didnt really cared cos am plugged in most of the time now. But previously was bad, until I calibrated it and flashed the Radio as posted yesterday.

@jonjon87 - I think you can give a call to Maxis support first. They should be able to point you in the right direction. That was what I did last time.

@kaolen - Here you go, friend ->XDA - Caution New PVT4

Have a nice weekend and good luck with your Desires, all you Desirable Serial Flashers.... notworthy.gif

- maybe you should check the SD card again - for defects, or how it is partitioned....
- remembered a guy had the same problem last month on XDA and he just edited the update script
- i had the same problem when I was trying to flashed v0.8 from Leedroid but after installing ROM mgr and doing the partitioning with it, everything went like a breeze

- for me, immediately noticed was the smoothness of how it is operating... now it is really cooking... psychological??? I dont know...
- then again there is the animations, call me a sucker for flashy things but that's just me.... wink.gif
- market registers that some of the installed apps i had needs updating
- best of all, HTCSense.com, HTCHub runs - which gives you skins....

- take out the battery and try another restore. Had the same problem 2 months back when i tried to flash and it went into boot loop. Somehow, managed to boot back after another restore and did a backup with ROM Mgr the second time and everything was ok. Didnt really know what happened but friends at xda thinks that it is just a quirk problem with clockworkmod and hboot 0.93... Good Luck

- how is it working after waiting for 15mins. I remembered it took a little bit longer than the usual flashing. For the v0.12, i had to wait almost 20 mins before it was done.
- have you tried repartitioning the SD? Had that harrowing experience of just wiping but when i repartitioned it went ok.

- try repartitioning the SD, bro... sometimes the SD has corrupts

@khuen72
- just flash the ROM, if that is possible, you can flash whatever radio you want... get it up and running first

- Looks like you dont have ext2. check and see if the partition exist or can be read. Otherwise, repartition

- I am new too... am a newbie, just started yesterday, see... biggrin.gif
- can you restore to previous ROM? Try taking out the battery and restoring to backup ROM. Hopefully you get to your starting point again.

p.s. hopefully you get to resolve this before they start hunting the bunny in the servers....

@khuen72- yeah.. good show... rclxms.gif
that is what i meant in my previous post... if you partitioned with Windows, you wont get ext2 as it is not native to MS environment, unless you use gparted.

@hazril - I stand corrected, sir for not being clear... notworthy.gif .. was referring that they should use extra tools if on Windows. Tq for correcting me...
@koolakt, @zamanjaafar - I always had that before on Digi, especially when it rains. Seems like they were upgrading the network. Now it is stable most of the time. Try it today and see what happens.

Finally, got myself to flash the RCMisHD v0.13 last night. Took quite a while for it to boot. And after leaving it for about 5-10 mins to get stable, it was still laggy. Discovered 2 things:
1. Repair file permissions and reboot. Help reduce the lag and smoother today.
2. Could not get to connected to HTCHub. Did an FC and clear cache and got connected... smile.gif

There are still a couple of issues with RCMixHD v0.13... but should resolve soon. I think more becos of the new RCKernel b46...

QUOTE(hazril @ Dec 5 2010, 11:53 AM)
guys,need your help...how do i recover my ext3 partition...???seems that my ext3 is corrupted...i've checked thru quick system info,my ext3 is still there but when i check thru Titanium Backup,my a2sd isnt there...it shows me free space from my internal memory not my a2sd...i've encountered this problem yesterday when trying to update my Angry Birds Season from the market...the peculiar thing is,if my ext3 is corrupted,i wont be able to start any of my apps as all will reside on a2sd correct?so what is the problem that im facing actually?
*
Oh no... That is bad... It could be just a sector, which is why you can run the apps but sometimes it will hang when it gets to the bad sector... The free space would not run at all as it will read thru the whole disk before giving you the info.

Have you tried checking on your PC? Some of the Disk Utils helps recover if you are lucky enough... but be careful when using those tools of mass destruction... Good luck.

@awiekupo - you are right but careful also as the heat is really bad if running it at long periods... if only we can install a liquid cooled kit for our Desires... biggrin.gif

@zamanjaafar - If I am not mistaken, not our Ibu Negara or Malaysia is recognized yet on the market to make purchases. I have been purchasing using PayPal. They give activation keys so doesn't matter whose credit card you use...

@ tyja, zamanjaafar - sorry, guys... am being unclear again. What i meant was i not linking it to market but i just hop over to the apps website and do the purchase either with Paypal or Credit Cards. Not through the market, tried enabling market but the transaction wont recognize the Malaysian credit cards...

p.s. RCMixHD v0.13 has settled down after half a day and is smooth now and quick too... not bad
