QUOTE(phantomash @ Jan 15 2011, 05:49 PM) just out of curiosity, what makes Cyan to be better than other ROM? you want to know why? cyanogen is the longest rom available since ( i dont remember which phone, so search for wiki) before Nexus One. cyanogen is a great developer, and have make the AOSP stock rom a much better experience for users. if you try the stock AOSP(try adamg's oxygen for example or build your own AOSP rom from google source), and then try cyanogen. so many things is added/improved. Plus the community is the best, support and helps are all there for you, across many phones model.currently am on MIUI, which I guess I'm gonna stick with it till CM7 is officially out, so just want to know why do you recommend CM rom so much as in what makes them stand out from other ROM, including Oxygen? Most AOSP rom's features are based on Cyanogen, except MIUI(kali- said that to me). so its up to you. i ditched MIUI cuz of iphone like interface eventhough you can use different launcher. But still the settings and such are identical to iphone. Even oxygen is based from CM, just cuz adam said it isnt. It is. see some of the features, adam slowly implement the CM, for example the notification bar widget control. thats the fact, adam just wont admit it. Added on January 15, 2011, 6:11 pmEDIT - i had trouble with CM 6.0.0 - 6.0.2 so thats why i had to jump to other rom for awhile. This post has been edited by LuffyPSP: Jan 15 2011, 06:12 PM |

if need to use froyo other than CM, it has to be something different. |

QUOTE(tyja @ Jan 15 2011, 08:07 PM) Nice said Luffy. tyja - you dont try building for yourself? am setting up the building environment tonight. hopefully can build my own CM7 tonight too if the setting up doesnt take too long. woohoo!!This is why I stick to CM ... oxygen still use framework 2.2 but use some GB feature. Like I said b4, stick with pioneer. for those who want to migrate to CM7 but still waiting for official release, just give a try unofficial cm7 for a day, you will see a diff. unofficial doesn't mean not from CM, it just not compile by CM but all sources are origanally from CM. phantomash, just give it a try. |

Dialer One. the stock AOSP dialer is a good dialer. the only thing they missed is the T-9.
Added on January 16, 2011, 3:57 am QUOTE(stargazer_7 @ Jan 16 2011, 03:46 AM) Well, alot of ppl chose to buy Desire (including me) at the first place is because of the sense UI. If not why not buy N1 instead. Yeah as we become more pro and pro we might start thinking that sense is nothing but a clutter of crap, but its still the best launcher made by any phone manufacturer. Touchwiz or Motoblur or whatever are not even close. There are widgets out there which are just emulating Sense widgets already shown that how handy they are. i still think Android will achieve greatness even without Sense. but yeah it was all about preferences, who said you should follow what i said? i was being sarcastic up there. My point is, its really a matter of preference. Depends on what u do more with your phone. I am not even using a Sense ROM currently myself, but I would say majority of Desire users out there will always choose Sense over AOSP ROMs. So yea..advanced users dislike it but IMO Sense, and all custom made UI are crucial to Android development, at least until now. Do u think Android can reach its current popularity if every single Android phone out there had been using vanilla Android? P.S. am patiently waiting for a Sense+Gingerbread ROM. Haha. I want N1 but it wasnt in my budget to buy without contract so i have to choose the maxis plan. i never know bout Sense when i bought Desire. All i know is Android, and its open! but dang it got stucked in sense, when the maxis seller turn the phone on in front of me. Lucky there are AOSP's! Sense's dialer and widgets are handy, the interface are nice, but when you explore the inner side of it, its bloated. it can be better. i wish i could have the sense dialer on AOSP, but widgets, can be replaced by others. I'm building my own Gingerbread rom now! based on CM7 source! This post has been edited by LuffyPSP: Jan 16 2011, 03:57 AM |

thought you were booting already. have you wipe everything?
check the md5 of your file and see if it matches. if not then you have a bad zip. hmmm seeing that you're still new to flashing, you wont happen to be s-off and using a custom hboot right? but that doesnt matter though..haha!!! oh and btw, what recovery you use? you have a pvt4 desire i suppose? if Amon-ra recovery shouldnt be a problem. If clockworkmod recovery, what version you use? as far as i know, the 2.5.1.3 and above should be working with pvt4 desire. |

it is reported that 2.5.0.7 wont work with your device. try updating to later version. Search for clockworkmod recovery in xda.
but dont update to 3.0.0.5, update to 2.5.1.3. md5 is a checksum to check the file integrity to see if your file matched the original file. I'm sure its not the corruption, it should be your recovery. |
