Stock table

Use the stock table(meaning no need to do anything) if you use sense rom. only use other partition if you use an AOSP rom. and remember, you cant install sense once you use other partition so you need to revert to the stock if you want to back at sense again.

Advantage? more space, and i love it cuz i dont like pushing my sd card with a2sd+ too much. prefer use all in internal memory all the way.

Using the oxygen table while using oxygen rom is recommended, if you dont change to other roms too often, so you are good to go. Today i flashed the hboot 5 times lol~~ Oxygen > n1table > data++ > n1table > oxygen just cuz i want to try CM7.

be careful and always check the md5 sum when flashing these hboot as you'll brick your Desire if the file is corrupted.

You can use the PB99IMG file from the alpharev site, rename it as instructed, put it on the sd card root and boot into hboot mode(not fastboot). I tried it but got some error so i didnt manage to get it working. Since this is a bit risky, i dont take my chance. flashing radio and hboot are critical and has the most risk, so i dont recommend doing without adb/fastboot, though the options are there.

I take example lee droid, when you download file size is about 180mb, this zip file, when extracted it will become more. So, you must find hboot with system size more than 180mb which is stock table

If a few months back, my guess is that you would have 1.5... 1.8 is new. I just re-flashed it and it works fine.

alpharev 1.8 -> need for s-off process. by default, it will flash stock hboot.

hboot -> it can define mtd partition. currently there are 5 hboot. stock, n1table, sense, data++, and oxygen.

hboot changing is optional. if you want to fully utilize your partition table, find suitable hboot for your lovely rom.

for me, i like CM, so i go for n1table. n1table can be use for other rom. but not sense rom.

oxygen hboot just for oxygen rom. becuase of system size. no other rom that have small system size like oxygen.

if you already s-off using 1.5, no need to use 1.8 again. 1.8 are just for user that have PVT4 nand. once you already

s-off, no need to upgrade. it just to lift up your security flag.

I did the whole process over from the iso and burn new CD and used that, bro...

Hahah... yes, tyja is right... you already have S-Off so not much different and may pose some complications also as still new...

To me, CM is very refined and detailed with more functions... I love it but atm being confined to a closet geek with not much time and to be practical I have to stick to "easier to managed" ROMs like Oxygen... 

Yeah, did try also CM7 over the weekend and it was smooth... the dev still working out some kinks and it would be fantastic when stable...

Nope, no FB, just those two... If I am not mistaken there was problems where FB syncing caused and it was taken out first... or was that on another ROM???...  ... Too many ROMs for me to keep track of already

For instant if I want to change/try another ROM, what is the best way to back up the current ROM? Where restoring it will be easy. Input is every much appreciated.

mtd and hboot from alpharev are same build for same reason. diff, alpharev hboot will be permanent. mtd modified will be lost when you wipe.

actually all rom are base on cyanogen. so i just stick with pioneer.

Recently i and found out how to join facebook contact with my phone contact, meaning attached email and photo to your phone contact. with that i think i will be sticking to Oxygen for quite long time unless LeeDroid come out with Sense Gingerbread ROM.

Alright guys, let the lesson begin...

1. Make sure you have facebook 1.5 download and install
2. when you login to facebook, it will ask you sync all or sycn with exisiting contact or don't sync, for me i chose sync all
3. All of the facebook contact will embedded into your existing contact, and it will look kinda messy
4. open your contact, choose the contact with phone number, press menu-choose edit contact, press menu again-choose join. then you can select your facebook contact and join. VOLA!!!

but you still need to clean out the rest of facebook contact by deletion.

For pics you can use syncmypix. Email I'm not sure..

I'm using this, syncmypix also. useful app.
after finish sync, then update to cloud too    Google Sync
Tips: try save your phone contact person name same as FB name if can.
