Type of camera/lens/accesories : DSLR camera
Budget : ~2k - 2.5k (the cheaper the best)
Your Location : Penang
Preferable brand : Sony (Preferrable) or Canon
Type of photography u want to do : All
Any specific models in mind? : Sony Interchangeable (NEX-3/NEX-5) or SLT (a33/a55)
Any specific features u want? :

Actually i am really a noob in this... the only camera i've ever had or play around with is IXUS which is bought many many years ago.. never had a new camera ever since.

I am looking to go a bit in SLR.. wanted to get something like that which could shoot good photograph.. a camera which is easy on the new guys but also customizable to take expert pictures. All round performance...

I like sony.. especially the stylish design of NEX and the good capabilities of the SLT cameras.. wanted to get advise.. which one should i get? If my focus is i want this camera to stay with me for long... can take good pictures and help me in learning to configure and take good SLR pictures. Style is not priority - quality and features are more important to me.

hope someone could give recommendations

Style is SONY main focus in branding.. thats why they have NEX.. but actually NEX is quite good, but since you have that budget with you, can go straight to DSLR already, or u just want some small camera that easy to carry around?

Best way is to go to the shop, and check the price first, other accessories you need add on how much compared to online shop..

another thing also you get to try the camera inside out, molest gau gau, so that you wont regret..
