QUOTE(o.o @ Jul 10 2011, 04:37 PM) Added on July 10, 2011, 4:47 pmYa, becaz of its latest model... D5100 is better than 550d... i still hav some confused questions, ppl said: 1. nikon is richman's game becaz nikon lens is expensiv than canon lens, is it?? 2. canon photo is natural than nikon photo, many professional camera man do editing on nikon photo, is it?? (i compared be4 inside a shop by d3100 n 1100d, canon photo is better. BUT when comes to another shop, the salesman said camera screen view and pc view is different, if u wan view photo by camera screen nicely nicely, just buy Samsung model better. Situation is different when view by pc .... 1. Not really. Both have their basic 55-200s, 35mms, 50mms, 18-55s, advance level 28-70s, 70-200s at roughly the same price. 2. Personally I believe Nikons have a more realistic colour compared to canon. At least when I compare my D3100 with my friend's 550D. Either way you should go for the Canon if you really are serious into photography because there's a lot more people selling Canon lenses then Nikon lenses. QUOTE(konichiwawa @ Jul 26 2011, 11:49 AM) Type of camera/lens/accesories : Point and shoot Budget: RM 1.5k Your Location: KL Preferable brand : N/A Type of photography u want to do : Mostly vacation photos Any specific models in mind? : N/A Any specific features u want? : Would like something that I can see the screen when taking self-shot photos Canon G12. Although it's slightly above budget, the image quality is awesome plus it has a swivel screen, allowing you to do that self-shot portrait.

QUOTE(cyberixus @ Jul 30 2011, 11:19 PM) Nikon P300 Added on July 30, 2011, 11:31 pmlwk523 's budget is only RM3k. Second hand D90 is around RM1800 now. That leaves RM1200 to get a lens. D90 is a better option compared to D5100 although D5100 is cleaner at higher ISO and has more megapixels. D90 has better controls over White Balance. You will be frustrated with D5100's WB control in about 8 months. I doubt people are still shooting JPEG most of the time after 8 months...
