I am a beginner in photography. Handled a few point and shoot camera and dslr before but all belongs to friends. I am planning to get a dslr to kickstart my hobby in photography. Hence, would appreciate it if you could recommend me a good dslr for a beginner like me.

Type of camera/lens/accesories : DSLR camera
Budget : RM2500 - RM3000 include kitlens
Your Location : KL
Preferable brand : Canon or Nikon
Type of photography u want to do : Portrait, event i.e. wedding dinner, decoration i.e. xmas, landscape and building.
Any specific models in mind? : Canon EOS 550D, Canon 1000D, Nikon D3100 or Nikon D90
Any specific features u want? : Please recommend

Thanks. But I still prefer either a nikon or canon coz i m not a fan of sony Haha.. m a little bit choosy. The flashgun n telephoto lense can come later, for now a dslr will do. appreciate if you could let me have some advice.

I am torn between Nikon D90 and Sony A580. I have checked out both but still can't decide which one should I get.

I have surveyed the price :

Nikon D90 + Kitlens (55-105mm), 8GB memory card, tripod and sling bag - RM3,300
Sony A580 + kitlens, 8GB memory card, cleaning kit, additional 2 years warranty, tripod and bag - RM2,800.

Need advice.
