QUOTE(ComradeZ @ Feb 18 2011, 09:51 PM) For now [what is available now] get canon 550d if you want photography [or canon 60d if you have extra budget] + videography or d90 is also a good choice. Dslr is something you can have a full control of the outcome. So the question "can shoot very clear photo?" is irrelevant... even phone camera can snap clear photo. or if you want to just snap "clear photo", I suggest you go for compact camera Lx5 or s95 is a good choice to begin with. I mean having a dslr but if you're intending to just use auto mode then... compact is easier on the wallet and usage and also well compact should probably give you the hint of "pocket-able" now i'm clear already, and i'm planning to go further with photography cause my digital camera cant fulfill me anymore.. XD should i wait for 600D or go with 550D? since not much changes.. or wait till 600D out then oni get 550D hoping the price will drop?

QUOTE(ComradeZ @ Feb 19 2011, 01:23 AM) Well it is not for me to say this. I think you need to go and test it out at the shop. I mean 600d have wireless transmitter built-in for wireless flash and also the swivel screen thingie. I'd say go for 60d for the same advantage and top lcd screen also the 6.3 burst rate, save time and the thing is almost the same just that 60d feels more tough at hand rather than 550d or 600d for that matter. but once again, it is up to you to buy what.. since it is your money and well.. you will be the owner for the tool.. so I advice that you pick whichever that you think best for you. ya hey thx for commenting.. i'm stil very new to this and stil considering which to buy and yet i dun wan to regret after i bought wrong stuff.. yea juz googled the diff between 60D and 600D, seems like 60D have more advantage compared to 600D. any idea that will 60D price drop when 600D on shelves?

QUOTE(heinlein @ Feb 19 2011, 10:02 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « It's clear that with your current budget, D3100 or D5000 is a better choice for your case This photo is taken using my friend's EOS 550D with EF S18-55 IS Kit Lens. i think i roughly get an idea of DSLR liao, it should be the skills but not the camera nor lens.. and by reading all those thread in lyn, some thoughts came into my mind, if i get camera with kitlens, will they provide camera bag? how big the capacity of memory card should i get? i forgot what is that called liao, a storage that will normalize the humidity one, where you store camera and lens one, how much will it cost? should i buy that after i get my camera? money is a matter to me since i'm still a student.. QUOTE(heinlein @ Feb 19 2011, 11:04 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « it should be the skills but not the camera nor lens You need to know the basics of Aperture Shutter Speed ISO Usage White Balance Composition Lighting (when you are more experience)
You need better body-built body with weatherproof if you prefer to take photo outdoors. A more high-end if you want to capture sports. Otherwise, an average DSLR will do the job just fine. Lens is important for sharp images. Overall, you need to have balance on those 3. Just my 2 cents
will they provide camera bag? Most of the time, it is provided but it depends on the seller as well. Ask the salesperson
how big the capacity of memory card should i get? 8 GB might be suffice but you could get more. Class 4 minimum
where you store camera and lens one, how much will it cost? Drybox. Cheapest you can get is around RM200++
should i buy that after i get my camera? You should. You wouldn't want fungal invasion on your lens and it will cost more to repair or you might have to throw them away hmmm.. thanks for replying.. ahh... then i'll be ended up spending more than 4k? omg.. T.T oh ya any shop that can recommend me go and ask around in lowyat? thx This post has been edited by bryant601: Feb 19 2011, 11:21 AM
