I was wondering whether you guys could help recommend me a suitable camera? Sorry for not using the template since I've no idea what I need
I'm working on an entomology project which requires me to take photos of small insects. Afaik normal digital cams are not suitable to take such photos even on macro mode
What type of camera best suits me>? Any non-DSLR cameras? The lens are very expensive

Dear sifus,

I'm looking for a camera capable of taking macro shots and is easy to carry around during field trips. After asking several sifus, the recommended models are Canon G12 and Panasonic Lumix LX5. I'm not very knowledgeable in this aspect so I was wondering whether you guys could give some feedbacks on this 2 models. Or are there any alternatives? Budget is around 2k
