I don't understand why those asking open new topic need to ask someone open it, why they don't open a new topic directly?

Always choose regulated broker, especially if you are trading big lot. Do you dare to deposit 10k usd above to fxopen? You will have peace of mind if you deposit into regulated broker e.g. IBFX, Oanda, MIG bank or Dukascopy.
Just my 2pips *I notice there are a few IB in this forum. Hope moderator can take note. This post has been edited by bulkbiz: Dec 7 2010, 02:52 PM |

you obviously never used oanda before. Give it a try. Low spreads, no requotes, regulated. only problem? their charting sucks. I use mt4 to chart |

QUOTE(kelvin_tan @ Dec 7 2010, 10:38 PM) @MNet Oanda spread can be big at times ... that's why there's no requote ... they have more leeway to fill the orders. ... you obviously never used oanda before. Give it a try. Low spreads, no requotes, regulated. only problem? their charting sucks. I use mt4 to chart I notice that usually, broker that offer fixed spread will have to requote during limited liquidity ... this is to be expected... The red flag is when .. a broker offers fixed spread + no requote ... they could be a bucket shop that falsify their quotes to begin with... |

for the last time, FXDD / OANDA ! these 2 are regulated. FXDD spreads for EU = 2pips Oanda spread for EU = 0.9 pips. @luqmans Its true that spreads can be big on oanda but this is only during news time and it only last 1 minute. Afer that its back to normal spreads. Most brokers do it. It only affects those that trade when the news is out. |

The thing about this particular one is that it hit Fib levels at end of wave 1 and 3! At least for the Fib that I've drawn.
My trading style is simple as well, trade the trend using Fib retracement levels as entry levels. Especially on levels with past strong support or resistances coupled with my other indicators. I love Fibonacci, it has given me lots of pip love. |

regarding GBP/JPY.
i used a fix stop-loss of 50 pips for this pair due to its high volatility, but i fear the direction of the price would go off course and eventually resulting in loss when it should be profitable. so i'm considering of using the dynamic stop-loss and let it move along with the price, but one problem is that, sometimes volatility is really high and a retracement might cause my trade to stop out earlier when i can be earning more after the retracement. any prof here mind to give me some ideas and suggestions? |

tried MIG demo account, very confusing at first as I never trade 5 digits before, asking price is read 20 pips away from current price instead of just usually 2 pips. But overall, so far I'm very satisfy with them, and as a scalper, I like these 5 digits trading as there is much more movement and volatility in price. Too bad, MIG only offered minimum account of USD2000 which is quite a lot for me as newbies...

QUOTE(imax80 @ Dec 3 2010, 11:53 PM) why need to bank in money to IB local bank account? why cant we just register directly to instaforex, what is the priviligaes register with IB? You can perhaps register via instaforex that will link your account via paypal, liberty reverse and many more options which may link to your bank account. For more interesting part, you can withdraw your fund straight to your bank via www.instaforex.my |

Haha no nd to jealous bro, eveyone have their style of trading.. =)
Anyway lowyat 82, congratz in ur monthly achievments, bt due for newbies questions and doubts whether this is possible before they risk their account, it is my duty to inform them of its viability.. (1.) I suppose to achieve that amount, ur risk per trade must be 10% and above? i assume.. (2.) You will need to be whole day figuring out the trades trend, i suppose? Anyway am i right? pls correct me.. XD So newbies plz be aware that lowyat 82 strategy is possible but with very stress condition, if any body is to adopt such method, consider its drawbacks as well.. Edit: Oh one more to add, they must be experienced only to consider to risk more than 2% of their capital. Congratz anyway.. happy trading.. =) This post has been edited by Volatile369: Dec 17 2010, 05:53 PM |

If this Bancor is implemented ... I presume, currency trading pairs will become GBP/Bancor .. JPY/Bancor .. etc. There is a news reporting that IMF might implement a world currecy IF the US Dollar devalued to its deepest extent. http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archive...-world-to-adopt I dunno about it, do you think its worth to consider is possibility? If so or not, lets discuss it.. Technical trading will still be the same ... but fundamental data interpretation will need to be revised. To me, the problem with Bancor is, it's still an instrument without intrinsic value. Just like our currencies nowadays. It's still not as good as gold. For the whole world to use only 1 currency ... that is impossible. You can deposit them via LR or i can suggest if your from Malaysia. You could use local bank to do internet banking. Deposit rate is 3.8 and withdraw rate is 3.6. You can withdraw via local bank as well. That's instaforex rules. |

If you have zero knowledge, it's better to trade a demo account until you develop your own strategies. If you plan to use FXDD, they accept payment and withrawal either by paypal or TT transfer. Current Paypal rate is between 3.04-3.15. To withdraw, just fill up a form, sign it and email back to them. Withdrawal takes 3 business days to reach local bank account. To fund your account using paypal, you need a credit card. |

Just dont expect much if ur starting with 250 account..Unless u have a big account its hard to earn passive income by trading. Focus more on discipline and following a proven trading plan rather than profit or loss.. the profit will come automatically. Thats what i learned anyways. |

[/quote] I like Oanda, apart from being regulated, so far this is the only broker that is so flexiable in lot adjustment, the drawdown is this broker is using java web based platform while nowday most traders prefer MT4. But in the end it is up to individual choices, choose what your comfortable in your own style. It is hard to start with just USD1, they are some charges that you need to considered like the fund wire charges and exchange rates that could eat your starting capital. if you can start with at least USD100 assuming you want to take 2% capital risk in every of your trade = RM2 your stop loss = 200 pips, you will get out if the market move 200 pips against you Pips value = 2/200 = 0.01 cents per pips, so you should only trade with pips movement of 0.01 cents Which is equivalent to totall no of currency units to buy = 0.01 X (1000/0.10)micro account = 100 units currency Also take note you leverage choice..i.e 100:1, 1 % will be set aside by broker to open your position. 1% to open position for 100 units of currency is USD1 will be side aside as your margin and USD199 as free margin. You will got margin call when your free margin reach USD 1. so, you will have about 99 trades if you really discipline in your trading. IMHO, FOREX should be at your own risk, you learn, open an account, choose your broker, trade at your own risk. BNM got no control at you since your are opening oversea trading account. The interface is quite confusing for me after I have tried oanda java platform. yup, fill in the online form only no need to upload other documents such as utility bill or passport, by now you should get your account no, passowrd, phone code and pin no, they will also send this info in your email. keep it because you need it when you want to communicate with IB or Instaforex official for withdrawal or depositing. You can also access your trader cabinet and you can explore the functionality there such as change leverage or account type.just launch the platform and enter the info to create demo account, if you login using your real account info, you could see your equity or starting capital = 0. You need to make are deposit first before you can trade. Insta is using MT4 and totaly different with Oanda platform. I strongly advise practise in demo first and familiarise yourself with the MT4 trading platform. I have not use MT5 yet, but so far the only difference i see is the way they display our equity info at bottom screen in the trading platform and you might also feel different in the order fields, but for me i still prefer MT4 This post has been edited by imax80: Dec 24 2010, 11:07 PM |

Trading is all about risk management.. its not a good time to trade right now.. the period between christmas and new year usually is just soo much volatility.. traders are still on holiday and portfolio adjustments abound.. trends could look like trends but in actuality just randomness..the charts will always be there.. just saying its better wait till 3rd January2011 imho.

EURUSD Weekly Analysis 26122010
By BC, Weekly Chart : EURUSD is currently below 100MA, 20MA and 5MA which is weak. A doji appeared last two weeks ago show that market is trying to rebound but Shaven head this week confirmed the rebound was failed. I am expecting the market continue to falls this week. ![]() EURUSD Weekly Chart Daily Chart : Daily chart ended higher than thursday and slightly above 5MA suggesting it might start to rebound. Because of weekly chart was in bearish mode, the rebound should be capped by 100MA. For Monday, it should be close flat or slight higher than Friday, expecting low volatility as now is holiday session. ![]() EURUSD Daily Chart Hourly Chart: Bollinger band and chart shape started to squeeze and 100MA had been broken, suggesting a rebound might following after this. However currently this chart is still under 100MA, 20MA and 5MA which is still in bearish mode. ![]() EURUSD Hourly Chart Conclusion: Weekly chart is bearish, daily chart is flat and hourly chart is flat with opportunity of rebound . It suggested that market might rebound in the start of this week and continue with slides. GBPUSD Weekly Analysis 26122010 By BC, Weekly Chart: Under 200MA, 100MA, 50MA, 20MA and 5MA. Bearish. ![]() GBPUSD Weekly Chart Daily Chart: Supported by 200MA, it is obviously a daily wave finish and suggesting a rebound. But bearish weekly outlook may suppress this. So it might be flat or little rebound. Should be well capped under 20MA and 100MA. ![]() GBPUSD Daily Chart Hourly Chart: Chart pattern been change to up trend. Suggesting a rebound coming. However, same as EURUSD, it is still under 100MA and 5MA which is still weak. ![]() GBPUSD Hourly Chart Conclusion, Same like EURUSD, weekly chart is bearish, daily chart and hourly chart suggesting a possible of rebound. It might start rebound for the start of the weak and turn back bearish in daily chart and hourly chart on end of the week. |

Been reading through this thread and frankly most of the post are jokes. There are no more than 5 posts about DEMO trading which is crucial to newbies to learn the in and outs of forex. Demo account can shows just how fast their money can disappear even with 2% risked each trade. Let me dispel some myth that many newbies believe.
Forex is one of the most cutthroat market there is. The swing are extreme with 70points swing occurring in less than half an hour are daily occurrences even for mild pair such as the USD/CHF. From the way newbies sees it, 70points swing is potential 70points profits. But get your head out of you a**. Most of the time the swing is AGAINST your trade. Thats is the cruel reality. If you are going to go live trading, start small. Something like 500-1000usd is ok. Anything less than 500usd better go to Genting and try your lucks. Your capital is your sword, the longer it is, the better chances for you to win as you could stay much longer and suffer string of losses without much psychological effect. On selecting your broker, go with regulated and recognized broker. Stay away from Russians operated bucket shops such as Instaforex and the likes. Some brokers and Singapore branch such as GFT and Igmarkets. Those are good and reliable. Dont bother searching for ECN if you are not trading 10 standard lots per trade. Use bank wire transfers to deposit funds. State the purpose of transfer as investment. |

Demo account i could earn a lot mang. Can even make 50% profit. When i put in money inside, real money, about USD600. I blew up the account in just 2 months time. LOL I am now starting to relearn again. And trade from the balance USD4. I read a lot trading books when i got time. I don't see the need for me to keep on pumping money inside when i am not ready yet. I am a loser, but i will improve and become a winner one day. To those of you underestimate USD10 account. If everyday u can grow it by 3%. tell me how big can tat be in 1 year time. 3% increase in forex is easily achievable with the right mind and technique. |

Dont think USD500 is a large enough amount of money to start trading.. better put ur money elsewhere. Trading is about conquering greed and fear.. yes u can learn trading with small amount of money..but your psychology will play against you. Would you be able to spend time managing your trades just to gamble USD10 per trade? (assuming you risk the recommended 2% per trade rule). From what my experience, new traders will usually have high expectations.. you have to set urself to win. And having enough capital is part of it..i think.

Hmm i don't know about others but i think USD500 is more than enough for a start becauseno matter u r starting with a USD10, USD500 or USD500,000 account if one didnt learn the survival ways in forex, it's gonna blow anyway. So why not start small? I assume people want to put in big deposit so they can earn big fast money, which is wrong. Hmm just my 2 pips. i am a loser anyway. I have blown a USD600 account, I regret that i keep pumping money into the account when the most important thing i should do is pumping knowledge into my brain. i should have just learn to trade with the remaining balance long ago. |

Bigger account usually make a trader more confident and disciplined.. they dont go in looking to double their profit in one month.. and they will be willing to trade smaller lots. As much as i like to read charts and news, the whole point of trading is to make money.. dont think trading on a USD100 is really worth all the planning and analysis before making the trade.. but thats just me.no matter u r starting with a USD10, USD500 or USD500,000 account if one didnt learn the survival ways in forex, it's gonna blow anyway. Hehehe problem with human nature, when you got big account, sometimes if the trend move opposite our trade, we might 'revenge' it by placing more contract because in hand we got a lot capital. or some people call it 'sai lang' or show hand'. We all have greed, thats why we are here discussing trading. So no matter small or big account, is still the same untill we realize and change. hahaha. Well it all depends on dicipline i guess. But for starter, one will not know his own behaviour and weakness untill one start trading. So why not start with low capital first before putting in more? If one can't handle a USD10 or USD100 account, how can one handle a USD5,000 or USD50k account? So why demo account don't work for me? human nature. Free things we take for granted. LOL. We have almost no emotion threat when playing demo account. Hey it's fake money. Just dump everything in. LOL. If own money, sakit hati mang. |

I think it stil depends per trader, there are no right or wrong way hw much the stake must be risked.. every trader will hv different experience and knowledge about the market..
Its like asking Mike Tyson which way to punch is the perfect way to knock out a person, while Muhammad Ali will tell u another way.. XD |

USD500 is the best amount to use to trade live...
there is no replacement for live trade.. using demo... demo trade is just to "test" EA while real trading using real money gives different result.. you just can't trade the same on demo compared to live even though they are the same amount of money(referring to yr hard earn money as initial investment) |

As far as I know there is no fix rate of "everyday must X amount of income" Instead sometimes NOT TRADING at all is part of trading. Give for example is like end of the year(just like now), pricing of FX is erratic, illogical, spread are generally higher too. Majority of the traders/ big guys are holiday mode. You probably more likely to be "profitable" (not losing) by being sidelines than actually trading.

Right on the money. 500usd is only good enough to test the water so to speak. But if you're starting to think you could make serious money month in month out using 500usd as margin. Good luck! I have seen it done before by other traders but NOT profitable on monthly basis. The pressure to milk every last pips from the market will mess with your emotion and straying away from original trade setup. With 500usd you might need 1000pips/month to be profitable, but think, if you have 10000usd then maybe you need to make 200pips/month to be just as profitable. A much easier target right. Minus all the pressure. I'm sure lots of traders here can do 200pips/month but how many can trade 1000pips/month? You will just fall victim to overtrading. (I am speaking from experience here, overtrading is the biggest enemy of mine)On demo trading, it serve it purpose to develop a winning edge. You have no business trading live unless you have an edge over the market. On the issue of using 10usd to start trading live, i see it as complete nonsense as 10usd is nothing to most people. They will fell no pain losing about RM30. But what if you trade 1000usd as a start? Now then its different story, you will take forex as serious business and not "play play" as they call it. You got to pay the tuition fee Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! |

But i doubt 10usd will make anyone to trade seriously enough. I recommend trading small or demo for at least a year to experience the full season cycle (summer break, thanksgiving, xmas/new year, earnings season) as the knowing what to expect during certain time of the year will be helpful in trading. i've knew forex since 3years back. trade myself, yes it is true, small amount make ur greed big n spending some hardcore personal trade without artificial inteligence since it's small! lol n we wanna win big. else spending tat same amount of time sitting there for a margin like that i'd rather do my business. So i stop. Now there's someone trading for me with profit sharing as deal. Anyone been doing this? Seems good for me still. He n me can skip the emotional part since im not playing n he's not playing his money, LOL XD. and since his profit root is my profit i suppose he don't trade for trades. Any comment? he's been good though. Low return compare to most forex trader but consistent. Happy 2011 Forex Lovers! |

Gone through this phase.. i found out that its best to just choose one method and stick to it. practice it day in day out.. and sticking to the trading plan. stay away from forexfactory and useless articles and news..too much noise.. for chatting its ok, but id go far away from it when there is a trade running. This guy say this, that guy say that..this method is better than that method etc etc. all of it is just noise. You need to filter your head from bad information.. Only get information and trade ideas from experienced traders and good website.. Thats what i think anyways..dumped everything into rubbish bin !!! |

all the methods to confirm the direction or change of direction
i was searching for reliability and simplicity MACD, BB bouncing system, STOCHASTIC, CCI, EMA, SMA, Elliot Wave, Candlestick pattern, RSI, ADX, Momentum, Bull Bear, Volume (VSA biggest joke) gone through more than 1000 indicators to the final conclusion, which one more reliable ? is only trendline price either stands on it or break it, even it is a fakey, you can wait till the next real one. Thats what i think anyways.. yea of course, i prefer simplicity, humans think that by using more and more they can defeat the market dynamics (compilation of so many types of traders and big players especially)but i notice something is that no matter what kind of trader you are, once the price break a significant trendline, everybody sees the same thing, it's not like you're the sohai that sees it only and go against the tsunami. of all the most reliable or accurate methods, i've tried to come out with a method to be in profit everday (intraday trader), but it seemed that it is impossible to filter whether to take the trade or not according to your system, it's really super hard because the market is always in a dynamic condition, sometimes trending, sometimes sideway, range bound the market condition is constantly changing, thats why we see certain system or EA die after the conditions change. but no matter what conditions, price behave always behave nicely to trendline, especially higher TF (like H1 and H4) and even better is that i found the method to lower the SL down to about 20pips, with R:R always bigger than 1 |

Technical Indicators are just historical data represented in different forms. I'm using just the most raw form of indicator a.k.a. candlesticks
If anyone found an indicator that shows future price let me know ya |

QUOTE(low yat 82 @ Jan 3 2011, 08:54 PM) hahah!!! this is nice!!~~~~!!! first of all VSA can never be applied in the forex market because you never know the size of the contract itself per tick and broker's data is different(retail), only higher tier transaction data can be used, so the basic data information is already flawedhaha~~~all traders will go through d same process wether u like it or not..YEEHAAAAA~~!!!~~~ edited: how come u say VSA is biggest joke? its vry vry good type of analysis... but d original concept is not like wat u seen in d topic at forexfactory.... different indicator calculates differently. using it blindly results in non consistency. llol. i still prefer d oldies indi which has proven survive time from time.. XD again, i always think R:R is nonsense. XD no offense. even so as i said again, it cannot tell you roughly it can go how much further. if you wanna use VSA, better bribe someone working in the big banks' trading room to feed you info let me put it like this, IMHO, this market is super manipulative due to the nature of the players which are big banks. These big banks have got so much money they can move the market whichever direction that they want, i've back tested the fakey(whether you call it as pullback/retest, or banks getting better price ?) for intraday is about 30 to 50pips range (4H will be about 80pips), so this amount will be the amount of SL you have to put, without a good R & R, no system can win because your odds wouldnt be by ur side. let me rephrase this, indicators can give you a good entry, but without a good strategy, you cannot win. have you noticed that everytime you make the trade, the move goes opposite you ? this is because of the knowledge that we know kills us. We wanted more and more confirmation, lets say engulfing candle before entry, once we go in, the price pullback. I personally believe that trendline and SR is the most reliable tools you can use stochastic for a trending condition will always go at the extreme, lets say LONG, it will remain at the Overbought level.... what the book said ? the book ask you to short because it is at OB level i'm talking about reliability of indicator + a good strategy Added on January 4, 2011, 8:43 am ![]() you see how simple it is, no more confusion, just wait, kasi dia pecah This post has been edited by AllnGap: Jan 4 2011, 08:43 AM |

And the most important thing is that it is simple, no need so many indicators, my last template had about 14 indicators, and i made the checklist, it's about 7 signal confirmation, after 2weeks trading on it, i only get confusion and loss i even have customized my M5 fractals to look like M15 fractals sorry, i trade on my 27" LCD, so the resolution is bigger, will resize next time |

What indicator you all usually use? I managed to earn 110 pips for GBP/JPY, 100 pips for eur/aud75 pips for aud/usd and 51.7 pips for eur/jpy today by using macd, stochastic, rsi and fib retracement. Too bad I'm trading on demo though. It would be nice if I could made this achievement when trading for real.

Intraday trend line breakout for me is almost same as gambling, but the truth is broker manipulate the price. When the candle break a support line, everybody(day trader) will short, but the price will never go do down....same goes to long when it break resistance, how many time you will see a true trend line breakout using hourly, 4H chart?
Go for daily chart to ride big trend....there will be 2-3 time in a year where big trends will come, and there is where you gain your positive ROI. I am not speaking based on demo or backtest result, but is based on my personal real account portfolio. Forget scalping and day trading.... |

Of course dont countertrend it.Go for daily chart to ride big trend....there will be 2-3 time in a year where big trends will come, and there is where you gain your positive ROI. I am not speaking based on demo or backtest result, but is based on my personal real account portfolio. Forget scalping and day trading.... maybe your pip range is super big at 800pips i guess ?? (EU last year got about 4 to 5 times 800pips movement) i got turtle on another account, but only got 200pips on UJ last time......takes a lot of patience for a trade like the example i attach on EU chart, 4H is quite ok, but it's the big banks that can manipulate the price, brokers can manipulate about 10pips, big banks can push it down even 150pips, so even with trendline breakout, the move is not as fast and not that smooth, it might break, then retest for 3times before the real move happens, so if not used to this kind of movement, better dunt trade, or use multiple lot this kind of pattern can also be seen on daily chart, weekly chart i never seen any lah Attached thumbnail(s) |

So much old bird still here..
Bulkbiz: I'll keep in mind for ur opinion for longer TF, bt I guess any timeframe can be done for forex for nw, everyones style is different, bt of coz lower TF need to hv more stronger discipline n tolerance, wiv experience, coz today u might earn a profit, the next day poof, it went.. Not same as longer TF, longer TF if u win for 1 or 2 months, u might only c another lost in around next few months, maybe still profit, so up to per trader style.. =) This post has been edited by Volatile369: Jan 5 2011, 01:20 PM |

damn, closed my UJ too early, at 82 with only 90 pips. should jump back in after the pull back if i wasn't too focused on nzdusd and audusd.
anyway, uchf and UJ are acting similar. UJ looks like it's going to reach 83.5, while uchf still has like 100 pips to go (around 9730). my trading has evolved since i started to learn trading trend line. very nice indicator, combined with candlestick formation detector from ibfx. |

The AL forex EA that i was working has been finished. Its making money ,a minimum of 10% daily based on your capital to 18% based on your capital. Its a safe scalping system based on daily time frame. It opens another trade after a trade is done. It brings more than what you can imagine. From 7 USD ,in 3 weeks time. I just doubled my account with lot size of 0.01 with instaforex. With just proper money management ! So far tested are Alpari,Exness,Instaforex and UWC. Trial version I released is to test. With the official version, there is many coding and better version. Now its making money like hell. I'm charging 500 USD per copy.I'll only open for selling 15 copy. After that,i'm coming out with a new version or maybe make the version better. i attended a preview of a turtle system, LOL the mentor dare to tell the newbies, my system is all mechanical, even kids can trade them, but dare not to show the live statements.
how can you possibly trade 20pairs and above without discretion ? Renko charts using 125pips as the box size when it's trending u make money, when it's not trending. range bound sideway market all mati katak. the mentor sure ho sei, per student charge RM 4800, 20ppl per class |

the worst thing is not the "tuition" fee, the worst part is the "SURE WIN" formula or mindset that the newbies absorbed.
imagine after that they take their retirement funds or borrow the money and trade it, then burn everything in the process. hi everyone, currently i'm using Ikofx and IGMarkets @Singapore.
Igmarkets is a license and international broker house. it's service and backup customer service is superb. reliable and trustable.. Ikofx- is a good for beginner as nano account, trade with 0.01USD per contract. fair rate and pips. transaction/withdraw within a day. I ever withdrawn USD 4,000 within 1day for a few times. anyways, pm me if you interested to have a account with them. have a good pipping.. thanks.. |

With the recent natural disaster and weak export, do you think AU will go south soon after staying north for so long?

QUOTE(Assassin @ Jan 16 2011, 11:44 AM) With the recent natural disaster and weak export, do you think AU will go south soon after staying north for so long? In short term, it may get affected with several considerations:1. Short term inflation threat due to rising raw material price since low supply on daily necessity including cooking; i.e price for tomato spikes up 20%; potato & banana up 10% 2. Jobs for rebuilding Queensland - job demand up but labour supply low (unemployment rate is at roughly 5%), may trigger rise paycheck 3. Interrupted export - not enough to export especially mining export 4. Money to rebuild 5. GDP will be reduced by 0.3% from estimation 6. Central bank has a tough decision either to maintain current interest rate for rebuilding or to increase for taming inflation This post has been edited by David83: Jan 16 2011, 12:01 PM |
