thank you for details.. i am using oanda .. just a bit curios hoe to use the pivot coz i tried to draw on the chart but i looks to simple and further i do not know at which candlestick should i start the pivot points....hope you can give some advise.. a  bit blur

Its better if u use Metatrader 4 ... but anyway since you arent using that ....

Open your Daily chart ...
Jot down
Yesterdays Highest and Lowest
Yesterday closing price and open price

Goto to this site for the calculator ... choose Classic formula
http://www.mypivots.com/calculators/pivot-...calculator.aspx
Key-in the prices to calculate pivots

In Oanda ... draw the lines yourself ... thumbup.gif

thank you for all the advises... will do it soon... yeap i noticed in oanda have to draw by myself.. but i try to use metatrader4 since i have that for my demo account

thank you sifus

Dont use prices from Demo account to draw pivot in your Live account ... will never be the same ...

Get the data from yesterday's Daily candle in your Oanda.. calculate and draw ... u only need to do just once a day .. morning after 7 am ...

luqmanz, if you're free please attach this indicator to see whether the pivot points drawn similar to yours or not.

Just paste it into MT4>Experts>Indicators>  , restart your MT4 and paste it on your chart
http://number1234.com/a/PivotsDaily%20v2.mq4  (right click and save as)

I notice that the formulas used in the calculator you gave us are different from the ordinary ones i found in the internet.
The formulas i know are
Resistance 3 = High + 2*(Pivot - Low)
Resistance 2 = Pivot + (R1 - S1)
Resistance 1 = 2 * Pivot - Low
Pivot Point = ( High + Close + Low )/3
Support 1 = 2 * Pivot - High
Support 2 = Pivot - (R1 - S1)
Support 3 = Low - 2*(High - Pivot)

and from here http://www.babypips.com/school/how-to-calc...vot-points.html

Would you mind explain to us what are the difference they made and which one should we follow?
Thanks in advance..
*
Have u tried calculating them? ... I think they give the same value ...

it allows us to choose between formulas. for S3 and R3, the default formulas are PP+Range*2 and PP-Range*2. but if i select the formulas below them, they give the S3 and R3 according to the ones calculated from babypips.com.

u know wat the differences? and which one to use??

My R3 for GU is 1.6330 .... choose the one that matches that ...
I dont use R4 and S4... biggrin.gif
