QUOTE(vin_ann @ Feb 11 2011, 02:31 PM)
welcome on broad bro.

Im also just got my unifi installed this Wednesday. smile.gif

next question: have you terminate your homeline + streamyx?

its seems that, even you have ticked to terminate your streamyx + homeline in the unifi form, its will take 2 weeks to complete the process as advised by unifi call centre...

if you want a speedly termination, go to TMpoint is the only channel / way to effect the termination within few days.

ps: you have to return the Telekom phone set if you're terminate your old telephone line. (that if you wish not to keep the old number)
*
The installer told me to cancel the streamyx and phone line through TMpoint directly, although I have tick to cancel in the form.

Somemore, I already written the preferred login name, but seems they create another.
Being told by installer, the password for Unifi login of PPPOE cannot be changed. Only can change the myaccount password.

u can argue with them. installation is there part. yr part is application. as long as yr application is withing the free installation period they should honor.

Guise,

I don't see any unifi ftth box in my area, but my place got unifi coverage.

Is this normal? please advice coz I had already applied the vip20 package via their agent.

Thanks

What exactly is your concern? If you are worried the agent is a fake or real agent but didn't provide you correct info, calling the Unifi hotline or TMpoint will get you more accurate answers than asking here. whistling.gif

I'm planning my whole Unifi network now, before they come to set it up.

My TV is in the living room, and I want to put the BTU and the modem next to my pc, and I was reading about this homeplug thing.

So just plug the home plug at both ends' power socket, then plug in lan cable then it'll work like normal lan cable attached?

BTU>LAN Cable>Modem Router>LAN Cable>HomePlug>Power Socket
STB>LAN Cable>HomePlug>Power Socket

Then it'll detect and work like normal cable?

BTW, the TP-link home plug and 3 in 1 router get from where? I think the router c-zone selling, but i nvr seen home plug b4.

*NVM, saw c-zone's list got this:

TP-LINK TL-WR841 WIFI N 300 ROUTER RM89
TP-LINK POWER LINE LAN TL-PA201 ( 200MBPS ) RM85

It's this 2 that recommended for simplicity rite?

This will probably work, but there are no guarantees with powerline networking.

They are honouring the deal, I didn't say that they weren't. Just that the install date is March 1st because of demand DUE to the deal tongue.gif

Which makes me a sad panda because that's like so long away :C

For TL-WR841ND V7.x, please take note it is NOT working properly on Huawei HG655a VDSL.

If you really want to get TP-Link homeplug, you may want to consider the 3rd generation TL-PA211:

it should be in the market very soon.

Just got VIP 20 installed today.

What is the speed that I should be getting if I were to connect to an international server such as one in London and one in LA?

I seem to be getting somewhere around 1.6Mbps for London and 2.7Mbps for LA. I am getting 22Mbps for KL.

Any idea?

Thanks!

At least yrs confirm March can use. My place in selayang, finished cabling work around 6 mths already. Keep seeing tm ppl coming n checking the FDU, signage also up 3 mths ago saying unifi is now here. Best part, when check with TM they say still not covered yet. Haha

By the way fyi the signage I'm referring to is at least 60 feet long right behind my hse. Would hv coated TM something like 40-50k to put it up. How do they operate?
