Hi Guys ;

Not sure if I can post it here .I've been searching here and in Google to find it but failed .

My office just install ZXDSL931 modem . Currently the setting made by Telekom people is bridging. The modem bridge to my DIR615 router. We are using VDSL. It is a 20mbps line with 5 fixed ip.

I wanted to get rid off the Dlink and replace it with my pfsense firewall .Problem is that, pfsense doesn't have PPOE with fixed IP option . Therefore , the workaround is to make the ZTE to dial it up rather than the DLink . Can anybody advise me on how to do that ?

Cheers

The limit is very high, more than 100+ users. Either your settings is wrong or your DIR615 is having the famous wireless issue (wireless clients not able to get any response from router after WPA is established).

You are welcome!

Just to add, if your router has Router/Gateway option (either in the firmware or hardware button), choose Router mode, not Gateway mode.

The signal should be stronger than DIR-615! nod.gif

If you configure the DIR-615 as bridge (per Rizvanrp's guide), yes you can use any WAN-base wireless router out there, just setup the PPPoE (like Streamyx) and connect it's WAN port to DIR-615 LAN port.

Hi klseet,
I am interested to get this Mikrotik RB750G. Do you mind to share where can I get it and how much (average) would it be?

Thanks.

Oppsss...sorry...saw your website mentioning about Soliton in the Singapore. What's the best method to get the product from them? How do they charge? Thanks smile.gif

Can some expert pls help on this? I'm having problem to connect to internet on some of my laptop, when i check on the DIR-615 log it shows

"Drop DNS request from LAN (src:192.168.0.100, dst:192.168.0.1) by firewall rule."

but thing is i didn't set any firewall setting in Dir-615 and i'm sure it's disabled. Is that any1 encounter the same problem?

Your WAN to LAN and WAN to LAN firewall options are disabled on your DIR615?

Are you able to get an IP address assigned by the router? Can you ping say 8.8.8.8 successfully?

It's written on the label attached to the box and also at the bottom of the router itself.

Suggest you go IT shop (eg, LowYat Plaza or Digital Mall Sec14) to check & buy.

yes, ip is assigned. the router ip is 192.168.0.1 where my laptop assigned to 192.168.0.100, i tried to ping 192.168.0.1 but very strange sometime is successful but sometimes no respond. Again when i check in router log it shows ping cmd was block by the firewall rule and yes i'm very sure NON of the firewall rule is activated. same problem on different laptop as well, restart router many times but still no go.

I am not familiar with mikrotik. Most routers support web configuration these days, configure from OS X should not be problem. From the mikrotik demo site, you can try Webbox to configure. Try the demo by key in user name : admin and no password.

mikrotik demo URL

Hi Paul,

I'm not familiar with Mac, it seem like there is a way to run WinBox tool on Mac, you may want to refer here:
