in term of disc backup, i think GG is better, they downloaded in a retail disc file form, just copy paste kawtim

as for steam, man, alot security issue

i still not sure that ALL games are game file backup only or together with your saved games, ingame ID also backup together

I just backup whatever in the common folder. Or the related gcf files for games like TF2.

Works well, IMO.

Copy into your common folder that dont have the game.

Then, press install.

Steam will verify it for you and then, done.

i was refering that backup a copy then send to someone just buy that game to skip download
ofcourse u backup for your own use has no problem

1. Game file back up only.
2. If using Steamworks (Cloud), it is Steam's responsibility to backup your savegame, ID, settings and etc, not you.

that y i said ALL games

only a few games used steam cloud
most of them arent using that.

some saved game can be found at Apdata, my document

but there are some rare case where saved games are at the same folder as the game
