QUOTE(clayclws @ Dec 12 2010, 07:18 PM) A little warning to those buying the BlackWidow, the typing experience would be seriously hindered for a week or so. I've just used it for a day, and thus far it is really hard to acclimatize to the font and the weird placement of the 'shift characters'. The experience would get better but be advised that if you are using another keyboard at work, this keyboard is not suitable for you because you would be making a lot of mistakes. lol.thats usually the case when trying anything new. i also took a week or more to adapt to my 7G, and also slightly longer each to move from copperhead to boomslang and then to xai |

The experience would get better but be advised that if you are using another keyboard at work, this keyboard is not suitable for you because you would be making a lot of mistakes. Hah i get that too, screwed up a few of my starcraft 2 matches online, kept accidentally pressing the caps lock button and my left hand feels like cramping sometimes, probably just need some time to get used to it. But i'm loving the typing experience so far with it, don't see myself ever going back to a rubber dome keyboard, hell now im even tempted to buy one for use at office. As for those looking for the Ultimate, I'm guessing it's because of the individually lit keys. Those are nice looking...when it is dark. Unfortunately, it is advisable that you use it while you have some dim light in the room as well. This is because those glaring lights would affect your eyesight, unless you are well versed with the keyboard and you don't need to look at the keys often...of course, that is kind of a moot point to have them lit in the first place. It's a nice bling though. As for Destructor...this mousepad is just freaking AWESOME. It is better than the exactmat for sure. The Mamba? It is the only choice of upgrade for fanboys that call the DeathAdder their trusted weapon of destruction. Careful about your Mamba though, treat it delicately, mine died after 2 months of normal usage, now sent for RMA. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Dec 12 2010, 09:11 PM) lol. Unfortunately, I think the problem with BlackWidow is not the same as the mice. Ergonomics play a big factor in mice, and everyone expected the change.thats usually the case when trying anything new. i also took a week or more to adapt to my 7G, and also slightly longer each to move from copperhead to boomslang and then to xai For a keyboard, it is rather different. For example, that Capslock key is always a problem, and it still is an inherent problem for almost every new user of BlackWidow. The relocation of the "shift characters" are also weird. In due time, we will get used to it but, really, do they need to switch the position of the "shift characters" and normal characters? I really wish I can turn off the capslock like Chrome notebook...and possibly relocate the left Alt with the left Ctrl so that pressing shorcuts would feel more like a Mac.
