Thanks for the thoughtful words. You inspired me to look into learning new software and SAP before the interview and also some overview of how's the banking line is about.

Thank you smile.gif

got few questions to ask :

1. within 1 year of working in Sg , can i apply for PR ? Construction field, EP, electrical engineer.

2. if i want to let go of my PR in the future, while i'm stil working in Sg. izit possible ?

3. the employer normally prefer PR or without PR ? between paying for our CPF, or being limited to certain amount of foreigner ? construction field ...
*
1. You can apply after 6 months, however the longer you wait the higher chances you will have.. However if you wait move than 1.5 years, 1.5 years there may be no difference between 3 years vs 2 years, etc

2. There's probably no reason why you should denounce your PR and still work in SG. However if you do that you will still be able to work in SG under a normal EP. Only thing is you will have to wait till 55 before you take out your CPF, unless you're staying in East Msia.

3. Generally employers prefer PRs, however there are a few types of companies whereby they would prefer non-PRs. Won't elaborate as not advisable to go into these companies anyways,(you'll be short changed for sure).

My thought simple, get your butt over to SG first and then only worry about the PR thing. You won't be able to get a PR now anyways.

Can people from tax background in big 4 malaysia work in Singapore since the tax system is different?

Withstanding that there are many different tax services (personal tax, corp tax, international tax, transfer pricing, gst, etc), a quick answer to your question is yes.

Most skill sets from Big4 tax depts are transferable in the region.

aihh.. headache ar.. i just signed the letter offer with a bank in SG. the day i tender my resignation, my boss yumcha with me and told me he wants to retain me by relocating me to SG, of coz with a better offer.. i told him i already signed the LO but he said it is not an issue.. :/ am i subject to legal action if i turn down the offer which i already accepted?

It really depends on the company and at which stage you're at. Most importantly has the company applied for your EP. If they have, they need to cancel your EP, and along the process they can let MOM know what you have done.

At this point it's a grey area and I would advice against retracting your offer once the EP has been approved.

Why? I have seen people's EPs being rejected a couple of times for the above scenario.

If they have not applied for your EP, you can retract the offer letter. However, you should take note of the "clauses" in the offer letter that you have signed. Most companies would be ok to just "accept the fact". However.... sometimes once in a blue moon things might happen. brows.gif
