yup, u are right. Clementi is a nice place (according to my colleague) but its freaking expensive. not sure if u can get a room with $700 nowadays. But i think Tampines shouldn't be a problem. I am not very familiar with the green line housing estate coz i used to stay in the red line area (according to my friend, red line and purple line rooms are cheaper compare to green line). with $500, u can definitely get a room in red line or purple line area. green line i not very sure, mayb others can help u out.

Since u're working at Shenton Way which is near to Tanjong Pagar MRT, I suggest u stay near green line..west area not too bad..You can consider Clementi, Commonwealth, Queenstown etc as well...Tiong Bahru n Redhill might be more expensive though.. I stay in Clementi, just took 20+ mins MRT to reach Tanjong Pagar ^^

Yea, agreed dat Clementi is a very nice place..very convenient esp with the newly open mall ^^ I rented a common room for $700 w/o utilities as well..but i heard the rent are getting more expensive now...might need to move soon

hi, me and my wife is leaving to SG this Friday. My current company HR has prepared a borang CP 21 and ask me to submit to LHDN to clear 2011 tax. however, my wife's employer did not prepare this for her. Is this a compulsory thing before we leave the country?

It is compulsory for the company to issue it, but for me, the company submitted to LHDN.   
It is just like a procedure if you leave the country, just like withholding your last salary pay.
After that, they approve the release of your last pay.
To avoid red tape, they can give you EA form following year instead (just like you never told them you leaving the country)

CP21 kinda looks like EA form which is not all you need to file income tax.
If you have PCB, you need that sheet too as CP21 does not include those information.      (You may have to request from your company)
Other relieves like insurance will only be sent to you next year.
Just remember to file next year during income tax season.

Not sure, but I would recommend that you submit the following year.
It would be more troublesome if they come knocking on your door asking this and that.
If you paid PCB, you MUST file, so that you can get back the amount you paid.   

becareful of a clause by LHDN, if during that year you do not work the minimum 120 days in Malaysia, you will be taxed full amount.
