QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Dec 21 2010, 05:06 PM) not sure about Singapore Driving license. But riding a bike in Singapore is rather safe compare to KL, if u rode a bike in KL before, you will feel that riding in Singapore is a lot more comfortable, their roads doesn't have those manhole in the middle and bike can ride at the middle on the road if you are going a fast enough. and on the $$ wise, its expensive if u stay in SG because u need to pay $0.65 daily just to park your bike at the HDB car park. Road tax is expensive as well. The other day when i am jaming in the causeway, there is a uncle riding a Singapore bike similar to mine, he asked me how much i bought mine, i bought mine at RM8k so i asked him back about his bike, he said he bought his bike $8k. and his roadtax is $200+ yearly while i am only paying RM30 road tax and RM100+ insurance. I doubt his insurance gonna be cheap though. And when we park our bike back in Malaysia, we don't have to pay car park. So my suggestion, if u are planning to buy a bike, why not stay in JB and get a Malaysian bike, even after calculating the $4 daily VEP, it is still cheaper to get a Malaysian bike compare to SG bike unless you are talking about long term (at least 3 years and above). Who know ur company gonna transfer you to another country or you getting tired of SG and wanna go back to where u are from, by then you are on the losing end. And since u work odd hours, then you don't have to worry about the traffic jam in the causeway as well. as long as you go and do the biometric identification for biker (free), then you definitely can cross the causeway in less than 10 mins (avoid 5am-9am JB-SG and 5pm-9pm SG-JB). yup its for long term...i've done a bit of research... those kap cai bout 3 to 4k for a new bike + insurance + the suck money device + road tax...(2nd hand 1k can get liao...but condition...hmm...) with 8k i can get a big bike liao...probably a scrambler... but then my main purpose is just to commute between office n home... i've checked the route as welll..quite safe...but then malang tak berbau... insurance cost bout 700, road tax 200, erp 1(but got many route to avoid erp) and yup 65cents for the parking...but currently my area is newly develop area...so parking free...and many blocks still havent finish...probably can tumpang their parking dont want stay jb...i working tanjong pagar n my main purpose is to save time... |

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Dec 23 2010, 11:13 PM) there's where travel insurance come in. better to get one and protect yourself. I have my fair share of flight delays or cancellations and I think it's money well spent. i thought it only covered delayed flights?earlier by 14 hrs also cover? let me read the T&C 1st |

QUOTE(Jurlique @ Jan 4 2011, 11:53 PM) Hey guys, it's me again.. not all are sweet...but mostly yes...i have to agree this with u...There are 3 type of food that cannot be eaten that I experience in SG while working here, it's just damn yucky:- 1) Chau Kuew Tiew (Why so sweet??.. put sugar ah to fry ah?) 2) 酸甘汁 aka lemon+plum drink - walao, it is too sour+abit of bitter! Cant compare to Malaysia's style 3) Tomyam - real yucky (Tomyam in SG is the worst).. Apparently, every hawker serve the same yucky tomyam. BUT SG do serve good BKT and Kuey Chap (cannot be found in KL). Just wanna share my experience b4 I go to bed. Bye. this 1 no idea... i went some thai restaurant they serve constant delicious tomyam...not like kl no standard..sometime nice sometime dont here BKT is like our ground pepper soup...dont really like it... kway chap it depends on which stall... |
