I've just bought a sharp LC40L550M which comes with USB input support.

Tested with 200mb mkv files and it works well (both audio and visual). However, when I watched a 720hd file, there's no audio. File is about 8gb.

I tested with pc and it's fine, so it should not be due to file source.

Anyone knows why? Do I need to update firmware/driver to enable audio for larger files?

Many thanks

720p file which is 8gb...I think that is too high for a 720p version...(usually 8GB is meant for 1080p version) even some media player gonna have a hard time playing those...try getting one that is less than 5GB...plus only AC3 audio

i have 2 avatar, 3.31GB and 6.5GB, 3.31 run without problem but 6.5GB will have "audio not supported" message.

you will need external media player to run the big files......

TV media players are basically junk. A stand alone media player like WDTV Live will be a much better solution.

The Sharp LC40L550m only has 60000hrs of blacklite lifespan.
if u ON your TV for 12hrs a day..at constant room temperature with low humidity environment. plus less dust particle.
guess its only last for 13.7yrs.
Fair deal..???to me ok lah...maybe after 13years into the future..we have virtual reality TV program or built in our brain Nanorobot display...???
By the way..just brought it at rm2399nett at carrefour.
Free Sharp s-cable, Sharp HDMI cable & Sharp 8GB usb drive.
2 year warranty with insurance.
what is the price out there???
