Usually they will get high school or college girls for the jobs, cannot afford full fledge models. Models will cost them THOUSANDS of ringgit in pay at the end of the event.

~~ my model shots, abit blur plis dun mind la, no flash yet T_T
Wanna have a tip? I notice your shot here is running on : 1/20, ISO400 and F5.6.

I am very sure your lens starts from at the least F4.5. You could've actually go on Aperture Priority mode (Av Mode), set the ISO to 800 and thus will slightly increase the shutter speed to at the lease 1/50 for you to handheld properly to avoid the shake.

If you get these kind of environment again i.e roadshows without external flash, go on a ISO800 and fire away.

You won't, dun worry. Ask the girls to keep quiet, then you got no noise.

First time trying out Nikon D50 with Nikkor 50mm F1.8 lens today, thanks to NonBlood. A very handy lens. In fact, it's a must have for any DSLR user.

You're saying it becoz too many photographers have it. Unless you can CONTROL that bokeh and naturally wide opened aperture, you should NOT have that lens. What the lens did to your shots was that you let the bokeh run wild, hence the various results. It won't convince anyone to buy that lens.

Reon, yeah, the 50mm is a good lens to have. Good in low light. Forget about the bokeh, controlling it or whatever - it's just a handy lens to have in the bag. This is my opinion as well, and I don't need to convince anyone or intend to convince anyone!
*
Since you have no intention of controlling bokeh 'or whatever', hardware makes no difference in your shots, as long as it's cheap and able to add weight in your bag, you'll acquire it.

What do you mean you're not convincing anyone? You JUST mentioned that it's a good lens to have in a bag, that is a convincing statement. Simply means that if you have use for it, you will purchase it for your own use, am I right?

I respect your opinion, but you're confusing those who viewed Reon's shots and thinking what would a 50mm lens do.
