Computer Fair by ICTS, located at Tun Razak Hall 2. Went there to meet friends and buy comptuer stuffs. Pretty like the spacious hall (not like the usual hall for PCFair), easy to wander around and take pictures.      |

Cool.
As Jedi training mentioned in Episod 5, one need to focus. I suggest you to take and shoot the chicks. Focus on these subject, forget about others. That's a proper Jedi training.  |

Today went to OneUtama for the Initial D Carnival, wanted to take some shots to share here. But damn, the situation didn't allow me to take the most basic shots...
  First shot, from a rather far position. Couldn't get in there. Damn.  By the time I got there, it's already 7pm. Sun going down, light going away, but the crowd still there!  Went to the carpark, saw many driftable cars around there. Lotus Elise was one of them.  Finally the actors were about to show up! People gone crazy!  The only clear shot I can get with my IXUS. Shot from a far far position. This one is for the Jay Chow's fans. |

yeah they we're emphasizing the safety because this is the first drift event that is sanctioned by AAM. So safety is extra strict this time around. Drifting is booming now in malaysia ... so imagine if someone were to get hurt when hit by a drift car getting out of control. Imagine what would happen. No more drift events in the near future ... I just wished all this people realized all that .. .

Tried some night shots with the night-snapshots mode of my IXUS.
 KLCC Convention Center  Kelana Jaya highway (LDP?)  Roadlamp  KLCC Twintower All shots were taken without using Flash, hence the blurry because of my handshake. Heh, sorry, no tripod. |

Heh, last night went to the FHM 100 Sexiest Women party at Atmosphere (Twelve SI) with my pal, brought my IXUS 40 and snapped some lousy shots there. Due to the poor environment and lighting, I already knew the outcome would be lousy. But nevertheless, still wanna share with those who might feel interested.
 A look from outside. Packed!  A view from upper floor.  A slanting shot... without Flash.  The celebrities corner... which I could never approach.  Zoom in more... can only recognize Hannah Tan and Angel Yeoh.  Some games involving male models and hot chicks from college (guess so?). Well that's all I can offer. Heh, I always know I need a D-SLR for all these events!! |

luckily u went with an IXUS....dSLR owners have to stay outside. Good for u that u even manage to get thru with a camera, as "cameras are not allowed" as what i've heard

Well it's been a week since the Dreamcars event. Though I have not much nice shots to show, but updating my gallery is always inevitable!
I just picked some of my better shots from the show, and will post them group by group here. First batch is the environment/atmosphere pix! Enjoy!  Anyone shot this?? The big poster just outside of the hall. Yeah, it's the first time for me to enter KLConCen, and also first visit for DCA.  Some expensive cars there. It's quite funny to realise they don't actually showcasing the cars, but just a component that attached onto those expensive cars.  Shot from the back of a Wald car. Can see the perspective and awesome structural of the building.  A line up of the JSOC (Japanese Sport-cars Owner Club) members?? Nice JDM cars there. Will post the individual shots later.  The event in the show, GT queen pageant. Well honestly I don't think the audience felt excited about it at all. But still, flashes were everywhere. Ok that's all for the first batch. Well, I intended to shut off the flash and instead, used the Manual setting of ISO200 and took all these shots. It helped alot for lasting the battery and I managed to take 200+ shots before the battery drained out. We all have to learn, buddy. That's the sharing is here. |

ya me Ixus 40 user. my mistake was, I use ISO400. so all my pic have noise, that time I also off my flash, tried using flash & pic become dark, so i off it. & 1 more, I just reliaze, that time I on slow shutter option, that's why pic become blur.. I didn't use tripod, only my shaky hands.

ISO400 maybe too much noise for IXUS, but I chosen ISO200 instead. Well I'm never fancy the usage of small flash (on the compact digicam) anyway, so mostly depends on my have-to-be-steady hands.
WB? I set it to Auto, because the exhibition hall used mostly white spotlights, so I don't think there's much problem on WB to me. Exposure?? Haha, man, IXUS can set exposure?? Actually I shot more than 300MB (used a 256MB SD!), but half of them are my friend's shots, where he was posing beside those sport cars. Since you guys had posted so many pix already, so I have to pick some of the better shots (or special one) to post here later. Stay tune, eh? |

Well since this is a car show, so I guess I should show more car shots I took from the exhibition. There were way too many cars over there, and too dull with the shots too. So I just picked some better shots to show here.
 The first car that caught my attention when I entered the exhibition hall... The legendary Trueno AE86!!! Wow, they even paint the bonnet and put on those look-alike stickers! Cool!  A well tuned (exterior and interior) RX7, always one of the best sport car around.  Then comes to its brother, RX8. Hey the back not nice meh? Looks ok what...  Wow man, I like that bluish sport lights!!! Damn cool!!  Another WALD car. I like they way they designed the section there, really. |

Today (Sat) went to PCFair for a quick walk and meeting with friends. Wanted to take some shots there, but man, the situation there really like shyt!!
 Damn packed and jammed, no place to even walk, how to shoot??  I just took some snapshots at the Level 3 there. Nothing too special though, PCFair always sux.  Sony Booth. By the time I reached there, they just lost power for the booth. What the...??  Digi booth. Got all those kid-looking young girls there.  DotA war??  Dance girls for Samsung  Surfer~! IXUS 40 only.
The indoor lighting wasn't helping for exposure either. Have to use flash for most shots, which really not my cup of tea. |

I also didn't take much shots during this PCFair visit. Abit rush in time, and the environment didn't help much either. Too packed, too crowded, too little space to walk! Not to mention about shooting! Am I looking forward to the next one?? Haha, definitely no! Unless they can make some rectification on the booth setting and crowd control. Otherwise, I prefer to visit Computer Fair or game events like WCG, ESWC. Still got promo girls to shoot. |

Ok ok, no more lengluis pix this time.
Damn, the haze is killing people now. Today is the most severe so far... not sure what to come next. I just brought my digicam and went shoot some real-life haze pix for my friends in Sabah, might as well post them here to share with you all. Damn the haze!  My house area in Batu Caves. Damn.  PJ Uptown, 2pm. When I went out for lunch, I was shocked to see this...! Damn x2.  Can't even see the building clearly... and people start wearing masks now. Damn x3.  Passed by Kota Raya there, and this is what I got... Damn x4.  Back to my living place, and it's getting worse!!! Damn x100!!! Duh... Hope some rain will come tomorrow and at least gives us some clean air to breath. |

 Shoot from upper lever, show the entire Exo IX body.  Grandis?? I kinda like the reflection on the bonnet.  Colt, the sporty type from Mitsubishi.  Lancer. Wanna get a clear shot but that butt...  Evo IX!! Some guy is playing the PS2 racing game inside the Evo!! That's all. Didn't get to take the model shots because of the environment. The lighting wasn't helping either. At last I finish shooting and developed my photo. 37 shots in 2 months.

Update, update! Time to update! Can't just let my thread dropped to 2nd page and covered with dust.
Alright, yesterday went to World Cyber Games (WCG) in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) for a little visit and snapshots. Didn't get much thing from there though, except pix to share with you guys. Well, gaming is not that much to me now, but I can still feel some passions among the younger ones there. Hopefully they won't get too addicted... Time for some snapshots!  The main entrance, with some girls giving out leaflets there.  Main stage, always with someone speaking so loud for no apparent reason...  The big screen...  Another big screen in the next hall...  Spectators for the gaming contest. |

Last Friday received an email about the Sony Expo 2005 being held in KL Convention Centre, with free gifts to claim (for members like me). So decided to give it a go in the morning. Went with a friend and my usual partners - Camcorder and Digicam.
Here's some shots I like to share with you, especially those who couldn't make it. Hope you all enjoy the shots here!  The entrance with buntings all around.  Classy exhibition design. Thumbs up! (For those who refuse, nevermind, they don't deserve your time ) You can ask them to pose (not weird one lah) or stand in front of a banner/product for better composition. It's all depend on you. Just ask politely. And remember to show the pictures to them afterward (even if they don't ask). This is some sorta respect to me. Heh, but sometime, I also took sneaky snapshots... more like candid shots. |

Great shots you have over there! And many shots I never know it is possible with tiny IXUS like those Lau Tak Wah... I really respect you to manage to get these kind of shots, since the crowd is crazy like hell... I did not even want to try... at that kind of diffuculty..
I found your camera perform very good and not much different to dSLR, except of course DOF and zoom range la. And the only weak point I can see is only sunset shots, which I believe can easily be much better if use dSLR. Maybe it is just the sensor limitation... or maybe lens has some internal reflection. If it was some flare, you can try to create a homemade lens hood, even a little square also ok... as long as block unnessary lights. For PC Fair... I might want to extend my stay here before going North... Seen BabyK's babes pictures and always in my mind... If I am still here, want to shoot together? |

Hah! Finally got to shoot with a D-SLR and also wide angle lense for fun. Just packed with the E-500 camera and went to KLCC there to shoot like a tourist!

PCFair again!!!
I was there all 3 days because of duty and friends. This was the 2nd time visiting PCFair in KLConCen. The arrangement of the booth and walking path had been improved. The nice is nicer. The girls are more chun too. Alright, lets post up some shots I took with the Olympus E-500. The White Balance in PCFair was the pain in the @ss to me because of those lighting. Some touch-up had been applied to the pictures. Enjoy them!  30mins before official opening of PCFair. Exhibitors waiting outside the hall to get in.  Final tidy work before the visitors come in.  Ground level, Exhibition Hall.  Level 3, Ball room, Sony booth.  Level 3, Ball room, Samsung booth. |

Great coverage Reon! I think you can do a photo blog on events and people who can't make it to these shows can just visit your blog and won't miss much. I know it takes a lot of time to cover so many shots coz need to wait for a while for some humans to clear before can shoot.
Nice touches: custom white balance, correct exposure in almost all shots, mix of show highlights, items on sale, booths, wider shot with lots of people, etc. Well done bro! I was there on the 1st day but only had time for like 15min and 5min wasted when I met an old buddy who's with Samsung now. Only took a few shots. Too many people moving around and I didn't have time to wait so gave up and left. |

And also feel glad that someone like you who concern about the difficulty of taking good pictures in that kinda environment. The WB is killing me... Actually the camera (E-500) helps alot on achieving the good results by setting up the correct WB and focusing. And built-in flash is not bad either, at least it can brighten up the background, better than my IXUS. Hahah! It takes sometime to get used to shooting over there and fortunately I still managed to get some decent pictures to be posted here. And I always have Photoshop to adjust the colours and brightness. Thankfully. Hah! Too bad you didn't have time to take some shots, eh?? This time the arrangement is better than last time, we have more space for shooting. Actually I could've shot more, but last day it was abit rush and I missed out some booths and peoples. Hahah... Once again, thanks for the comment! |

4.45am in the morning... (then forum routine service time! bad timing!) What a time to post up the glamorous shots I took from PCFair. Also the pix that most people are eager to see.
First of all, just wanna say Thanks! to the girls who were kind and generous enough to pose for my shooting. Most of them are friendly and cheerful, surely lightened up the atmosphere there. Credits to them! Sorry for keeping you guys waiting. Hahaha, enjoy the pix!!  First shot of the girls (April and friends), even before the event started.  Sony girls with the expensive Vaios in front of the Sony booth.  Samsung girls. Well, not all Samsung girls though, but lovely enough to pose for me.  Intel? Or?? Kinda forgot what brand is that, something about notebook. Actually this shot wasn't the good one because lack of lighting. Just post it up together for a better coverage.  TrendMicro (PC-Cilin) girls. This shot was taken near the closing moment of PCFair on the last day. There were just finished taken their own group shot. (see the people behind) And thanks to the girls who kind enough to allow for one last shot before leaving. |

Sony Girls
The first booth (and the girls) to greet you when you enter ball room level. This time Sony did hire many sweet girls there, tried to make you stay longer at their booth.  Two girls holding promo paper and posing for me.  Girls with Vaio notebook.  Small Vaio. (Taken by friend, thanks!)  Big Vaio! Hahah, she not tired one??  The familiar face for Sony. Last seen in Sony Expo too. |

Intel Girls
The 2nd bunch of girls greet you would be the Intel girls, with their digital home demo and something. But the girls are lesser I think. Still, quite friendly and... funny.  First Intel girl for my shoot. Less make up, natural looking, nice smile and friendly.  The other 2 Intel girls. The left one likes to smile... alot!! Quite funny to talk to them actually. And they also abit tired of shooting, but still willing to pose for me. Thanks!  Now this... the girl on the left refused to let me take her pix during 1st day. (Said something about during working, cannot take pix. ) Then 2nd day I kinda ignored her when passing by there. On last day, I approached her again for taking pix. She first said something like after working hour, then asked me to go for the demonstration of digital home, get keychain, etc... after sometime, she finally agreed to take a picture with her colleague. Haha, no hard feeling, maybe she's new, but still a cute girl to me. |

Samsung Girls
Samsung has the most girls (IMO) and this time their outfit look so sporty and young. The girls are wondering around the booth, explaining the products here and there. Very friendly also. It's just that their supervisors always there one...  4 lovely Samsung girls pose with their shoes. LOL! Not sure about the idea though. These are from TimeSquare.  Garfield stage??  Flying reindeer and snowflake??  Dragoooooon!!  Christmas tree.  The concourse level with Christmas stalls. |

Here's some more test shots of D200. Today went to LowYat Plaza to survey for products, so just brought along the cam with me to test shoot around that area. Mostly indoor shots, plus some outdoor shots around evening time. Shot with the same lens (18-200 DX VR), AWB all the time, manual exposure. ISO 800/1000 for indoor shots. No flash applied. Only did contrast adjustment and USM abit. Note that the original images are wider in width. I cropped them to fit my standard size here.
 LowYat Plaza, shot from 3rd floor.  KL Plaza, the CNY decoration.  Lot 10, end path of Bintang Walk.  Sg.Wang, main entrance with CNY decoration.  Sg.Wang, shot from concourse level.  Another shot in Sg.Wang, the 2 big CNY writing. This post has been edited by Reon: Feb 12 2006, 01:09 AM |

Reon...the Nikon D200i shots are awesom...sharpness are incredible. Though I'm still learning photography, the pix really impressed me. I should have follow reon to go test shooting to learn more from sifu. Haha

as expected from Reon's photos... quality... i don't know much about photos but i seems to be a bit addicted nowadays to take photos... of course without me inside the photos... hahaha... later people will scare if i'm in the photos... i took this photos during the visits to a temple in broga... don't know the english name of it... noob shots...

the road leads to the temple is just like go cameroon or genting... just it didn't go up the hill la... kampung road... the temple is in a small kampung...

Andrewhajime the place is in Broga... if you know coming from KL ( follow the road sign to semenyih then when you in semenyih town follow broga / beranang / nilai ) then when you almost out of semenyih town then look at your left when you like going up a slope ( i think before that there is a petrol station )... there's a sign board stating "Broga"... then you just go in straight... no need turn... then you will reach the temple... seriously... no need turn... just straight... hope you can find it... if not if you ask people around where is the temple in Broga surely they knew... |

Finally got back the IXUS 40 and it's time for random snapping!
Went to KL today and took these pix. Nothing too special though, just some random shots. Credits to FireWire for lending me his IXUS 55 too! Saw this Yamaha motor show in front of BTS. Too bad the time was around evening, have to rely on ISO and steady hand for all these shots.  Yamaha Bikes.  Is that a Rim??  Staffs or???  2 Yamaha girls. Only got 4 I think... |

I used ISO200 for indoor shoots, and manual WB too. Just hold steady the cam and lean to something when pressing the shutter. It should do the trick! |

As for me, I prefer using higher ISO (not too high though) instead of flash. And steady hand is a must! So from now on, try holding 2 kilos rice bag everyday. Weeks ago went to 1U with DreamChaser and we bumped into some events in there. Here's the famous Ivory "Sapu" Romance bridal show which will "sapu" you from taking pix. It's their "private show", in a open public space (1U). Great.
    The WB is killing me. Luckily I shot in RAW, still can tweak abit during post-processing. That's why you see the colours on each image tends to look different. |

 This uncle is quite excited when he spotted me taking picture. I wasn't shooting him lah~  Lovely Jessica is serious about the circuit record she's gonna break. And there's a supervisor (sort of) kakacaucau there. Hmm... Should send ShinChan as our decoy to distract her, so that we can shoot peacefully there. |

Went to Mid Valley last Saturday, with DreamChaser, Viper, ShinChan and FireWire for the Honda roadshows. There were Honda Civic roadshow and Honda F1 roadshow, both located at different levels. Spent quite some time to take few snapshots from that poor-lighting environment.
 New Honda Civic roadshow at concourse level.  The new Civic.  Some dancing performance. Wacha~!  The girls demonstrate the features of new Civic.  The audience got their hands (and butts) into the new Civic. |

Not Sifu here lah, how to teach people shoot. Me still got alot to learn.
Ok here's some 30D test shots which snapped in 1U last weekend. Went there with my dude for that Galaxies New Look party (or shall I say we went for celebrity only? Hahah!). I brought 30D with me to shoot. Well the environment wasn't the best for non-flash shooting. I only used built-in flash for certain shots and the rest are high-ISO pix. The result is quite good, I must say. Though the AWB could be better. Thankfully 30D's WB setting is easy for me. The original picture format is 3:2, so the cropping is exactly the same as the original pix. Shot with 8MP setting. Attached with Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM lens (from Canon) to shoot. Feel free to comment.  The Galaxies party in Rain Forrest section, 1U.  Mags on wall.  The stage.  The attraction.  The adorable celebs. |
