I owning a Yamaha 467amp. And i want to set up a karaoke.

As i can see that my Yamaha Amp doesn't have input for Mic. So how and where should i connect the Mic. I have a wireless mic. I plug it into my DVD player. Yes, there are sound coming out from the speaker with bad quality.

What is the reason ?

If i buy a wire mic and where should i plug it to?

Lets say BMB amp. BMB we can see it have twice input for MIC with wire.

Go to tesco buy that cheap DVD player brand Agip, it has HDMI output for your AVR and dual mic input with volume control. You can also set -/+ tone via the onscreen display. It is RM159 only and it also able to upconversion DVD to 1080p. Plus with USB and 3-in-1 inputs too.

Only con is, it looks ugly so i had to "total make over" especially the blue led from the DVD tray. And stick Sony logo on it.

I use one input for mic and another one for my guitar. i have 10 speakers in the room so it take a while to place the mic and adjust the volume to remove that loud feedback. Once that done you're singing like you're on stage performing.

Most ppl. separate Karaoke system with their HT system

Karaoke system is not same as HT system. Speakers are huge to support mainly loud vocals that can easily blow up your nice HT speakers. Karaoke mixer also has built in processor that does a lot of things like make a lousy voice sound better etc.
For Karaoke....the louder the better...the more fun ppl will have.
Also, the pitch, reverb, volume and other controls are easy to access.

You better go to electrical shops like the ones in Jalan Pasar to have a look at what the have. A basic set can start at RM1800 both speakers and mixer/amp/standard mic.
No need for BMB, the clones also can.

But if you only once a while wanna Karaoke, then get as mixer should do it...but remember to limit the volume as to not blow you HT system.

Better use a separate system, otherwise your speakers are gonna get "hurt" blush.gif

I think what make it sounds good is the HDMI output. The AVR definitely plays important role to process the sound. And yeah u need a good microphone too. Furthermore your microphone output is not directly connected to the AVR but through the DVD player -> HDMI -> AVR.

I cant put the AVR volume to more than 45 cause it will have loud feedback, so in a way it save my speaker from damage too, especially for people with wrong technic of singing tend to increase the volume of their voice to match loud background music.

Just one question if any sifus know the answer...

Few months ago i went to some AV shop and asking around for karaoke system, was told singing karaoke using my floor-standing HT speakers will most prob blow em up. However, that sales rep also mentioned that since my speakers are those old floor stander, like 15years old, the construction is diff and they will withstand karaoke usage.

Anyone can clarify about that?

ok.. I plan to use PC disply for karaoke. I will load Youtube for KTV. After that will set the Left Right on PC setting (so that it will seperate music and vocal).

So in this case. It doesn't inclucde DVD player d wo.

But how can i plug the MIC now? izzit still can plug in to DVD player for my voice.

Haha talking about sound, those youtube KTVs are even worst then VCD karaoke sound.

Buy DVD karaoke mah, "uncle" shop got sell RM5-7 each, u'll be surprised with their compilations that you cant find anywhere else in the world.

With DVD karaoke you no need to set left right channel wor. Just click karaoke then it automatically remove the voice. It sound way better than VCD or youtube KTV.

Haha so fast meh, forgot to mention that you can set +/- tone with onscreen display (if you attempt to sing Mariah carey's song when your range is only 3 octave)

Anyway the sony logo is from my old sony VCR player that already kaput, been buying sony products for years and they did kaput too with the rest of other brand. I always thought they can last forever. I guess i was wrong.

Hey dont forget grab a microphone too, Yahama got good reliable microphone around RM50-60. I doubt your wireless microphone is that good unless yours is the one real artist use on stage with transmitter sticking on the back.

I even "syok sendiri" to the next level with mic stand and all. rclxm9.gif

Yeah, thing about cakai brand is if they kaput you dont feel that bad because your mind already set that they are not reliable, but if they can last longer than sony or samsung, thats amazing.

Couple of time through my experience sides the latter, my mother sony TV in her kitchen area kaput after 5 years compare to RM499 Zapporo Tv i replaced for her from tesco which last until today. And some other things also.

Anyway for the mic first check the price at music shop then go to hardware shop whether got sell or not the same model and compare.

Sometimes music shop sells it cheap too from other music shop. But you dont want to waste so much time searching if the price is already cheap.

PS3 can scan and play all your karaoke music and video inside your PC to your sound system. PS3 can also open youtube KTV for you.

You can also buy PS3 microphone

Happy shopping.
