Ok, i am considering to buy a new LCD/Plasma TV (but preferred LCD) with the following critera in minds:

1) Purpose: Play XBOX Kinect ...and watch HD contents. Terrestial TV stations can go fly kite.
2) Budget RM 2.5k and below
3) Inches: 40/42"...(if can get bigger, better!!)
4) Don't want built in media player, already have WDTV...don't like built in TV media players anyway.
5) Looking for 3 HDMI ports preferably...but not neccessary a must. At least 2 HDMI.
6) TV have some sort of 100Hz motion smoothing technology (yeah, i know, it's a bit hard for this budget).
7) If can, 2 yrs manufacturer warranty.
8) Prefered brand: Non in particular. Except don't want Samsung or LG or any China brand.
9) Must be FULLHD of course.

I guess that's all.......Any matches???

btw, does the latest new plasma TV can burn in the screen? Because main purpose is for gaming.

With your budget you can buy Sharp 40L50M, no built-in media player, 100 Hz, 40". 20Wx2 speakers, 3 HDMI and under RM2100!

I'm also buying one for Xbox Kinect , so fun! and use it to watch Full HD movies/TV drama like Avatar!

Hehe. Yep, Kinect is great fun.. i saw this Sharp model at Carrefour last night...RM 1999 only. I like Sharp...currently have an Aquos 32"...3 years already, still running great (but it's in my bedroom, not the living room...cannot play Kinect in bedroom...no space!). But this model has 100Hz? Doesn't see it in the specs.

I undesrstand the Philips model 42PFL3605S has this Natural Motion something tech. Not sure how good it is though, still searching for info.

Just checked more info:

LC40L55M =with 100Hz=RM 2299 (@ Carrefour, saw this last night too)
LC40L50M= no 100Hz=RM1999

But the problem is i don't really think the 100Hz in Sharp works...my 32"...i think the 100Hz only works in SD mode...at any rate, there's no difference at all. I dun feel the ultra smoothness of some of the new TVs (like maybe Sony Motionflow thingy).

I survey a lot and found only Samsung and Sharp deserves our attention. Panasonic, LG, Toshiba all like not good enough in terms of price and performance anymore....

Then go for the LC40L50M! The money you saved can use to buy a few Kinect titles! Like Dance Central, Kinect Sports!


Damn, I cant wait for Kinect launch in Malaysia. BTW, do you when Kinect will launch in Malaysia?

Hope one day can play Star Wars with Kinect. Or Kung Fu games. Like Street Fighter IV?

Tropicana City C4. Huh? Kinect is already available(and i am playing one now). Launch? Never. XBOX has never been launched in Malaysia.

Kinect rocks!! But my 29" CRT in the living room hurts my eyes...

Don't think about SFIV lar...it is not meant for that kind of game. You do dragon punch, fireball motion already half dead after 10 minutes...if u try to do helicopter kick, probably you end's up destroying the living room and ends up with a broken leg...LOL. You maybe the controller, but you are no Ryu.
