It all depends on the company you work with. My starting salary were 2.8k as a fresh grad. Work normal hours.. no staying back... And now I jump to another company who's offering me 5k after 2 years of working experience.

Anyone who's looking for job with a high salary ?  http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2448762

I'm looking for a mobile application designer, should have already designed some really good mobile apps or at least be willing to do some mockups to prove ability.

Obviously should be able to use Photoshop, Illustrator and perhaps 3d software.

Should be a designer and illustrator, with a keen eye for design and knowledge of typography.

Please email me... stuart at ingeniuslabs dot com dot au

After reading all the earlier posts, then I consider my current job as a graphic design GREAT! MY current salary is RM5440.00. Working hour from 9am to 5.30pm, 5-day a week, 26 days annual leave, if public holiday falls on Sunday, I also get replacement. It's a damn good job ya? And I am considering changing of job.

Wow. That sounds good. I'm currently a student. Ive always been really passionate about communication design related stuff. Aside from my love for arts and design, I would hope for a job that will be able to financially support myself. Seeing the post about all these graphic designers in Malaysia is really saddening. Why is such amazing job being look down upon in Malaysia?

I think I know which entertainment company you were talking about. Was it WTE, the classic opening to all my Four Golden Princess CNY albums tongue.gif 2007 to 2008? Does this mean you were also involve in designing the album cover for M Girls?

The first salary of graphic designer actually depends on many things such as the company he or she is working for, experience, expertise, skill etc.

You're right. Designers have much more creativity freedom in advertising field.

I think I might probably try industrial and architectural design. Went for an interview 2 weeks ago and still waiting for a respond from their side.

The waiting is such pain. Sigh !

celery depends on company, i think fresh grad(degree) usually get around ~rm2k. In any case, if you're new, better ~rm2k than nothing.

It's the year 2017.
GD fresh grads starting now is around the range of 2k - 2.5k.
Depends on your asking salary when you go for your interview as well. Companies will first look at your portfolio, and decide if your work is worth the asking price.

Skills is important. I've seen some with years of experience but not much effort put into design, and some who are fresh out of U but have amazing portfolio.

P.s.: Of course, you don't go in your first job expecting 3.5k, 4k, 5k pay right off the bat. Unless you're really good with experience, it's still going to be hard to get that salary right off.
