Wondering if we could make a course out of NKVE from entry point Mutiara or Damansara and straight to Klang Bukit Raja and back again....i think that'd be cool.

Comments from Gran Turismo Series Producer, Kazunori Yamauchi

The elements that make up automobiles all originally came from space. And when viewed from space, the footprints that identify the presence of man on Earth are the roads that cut a path through the wilderness. And cars are what speed down those roads. Gran Turismo 5's opening cinematic movie contains these three motifs: elements, cars, roads.

We wanted to visualize the world of cars from a different perspective than the flashy display of cars you would see at a motor show. The War Sonata played by Lang Lang for Gran Turismo 5 gives the footage its rhythm, its tension, and above all else, its power.

Excerpt taken from http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5484.html

Yamauchi-san, can you please come to my office? I have something important to talk with you pertaining your selection of song in the opening.

yeah on streamyx 1MB (but on my router page it stated 2048 downstream  sweat.gif ) Unifi will available next year in my area.

No problem so far. The best experience i had was torrent-ing 2GB file in 30 minutes and playing CS on SG server with a ping of 5ms

They really screwed up with the songs in the opening. Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit wins this round.

My views on this
- Graphics is kinda blegh. I was kinda expecting more, but I forgot PS3 is kinda aincent and can't really do all this shebangs that you can see on the PC. they need this for the PC quickly. Other than that, it's quite cool. Effects are nicely done, and unlike Codies, the colours looks NATURAL. GOD I HATE CODIES AND THEIR BLOOM. THANK YOU POLYPHONY!

- Controls. I am using the G25, and I must say it's quite good to see that it works straight away. No steering lag (deadzone=0 on simulation woohooo!! SCREW YOU CODIES!). But lack of customising is saddening. I can't even set the steering degrees of my G25, as I prefer it to be more sensitive.

- Physics. Kinda ok'ish, but since this is not really a full blown sim I can understand. Cars tend to not behave like you expect it would some times. Suprisingly Lotus Elise is hard to drive. Wonder why

- Sounds. Immersive, awesome. Soundtrack is great, and you can hear the car's engine sound bounces back from the trackside stuffs

- Penalties. Crap. I got bumped off the track by another car and was disqualified? WTF is that? AI is kinda too enthutiastic as well. If you were racing a real person, you'd expect him/her to give the corner. BUt noooo, they still want to grind you, and making BOTH slower.

- Menu. Old. Slow. Not intuitive. They need to revamp this. make shortcuts for important places. I mean why do I need to go back -> back -> back -> back just to get back to garage, when I realised I used a wrong car?

A 7/10 from me

- G25 is not "officially" supported in this game. They want to make extra money and make you buy DFGT LOL
- Weight transfer is more prominent in this game. Thats why
- AI has long been the bane of this series. Thats why GT is the Driving Simulator, not Racing Simulator
- Agreed on the menu

I just got in from the Gran Turismo 5 launch party here in Madrid – packed with media representatives from around the world, it was a fitting way to celebrate the end of GT5’s long and dramatic development. Here’s what I learned:

    * Yamauchi announced that the launch of Gran Turismo 5 marks the beginning of a “new era” for the GT series. GT5 will be regularly updated and expanded in the coming weeks and months, and there are apparently many exciting things in store for us.
    * The first United States GT Academy was just announced last week, and now there will be yet another GT Academy for SCEE regions! Stay tuned for the official announcement.
    * I had the privilege of personally meeting Kazunori Yamauchi. Having followed his work so closely for more than a decade, this was an amazing honor. I found him to be kind, friendly, and humble as he thanked me for my support of the franchise throughout the delays.
    * I was also fortunate to meet and talk with Kazunori’s infamous translator, popularly known as “Translator-san”. He was also kind and pleasant to talk with, and if you’re playing the US version of the game, he’s the one responsible for most of the English translations throughout the menus.
    * Why does Ferrari have the only F1 car in the game? While talking to a marketing representative for one of the manufacturers in GT5, I finally received an answer to this perplexing question. It all comes down to licensing and Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. He commands control of the licensing for all of the cars in the series, with the exception of Ferrari. For reasons known only to Bernie and Ferrari, they have a special provision in their F1 contract which allows them to license their cars to whomever they please.
    * I chatted with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe executive James Armstrong, who laughed when I reminded him of his accurate prediction that Gran Turismo 5 would launch this fall (I picked up his comments to a newspaper in the Canary Islands thanks to a local tipster). He mused, “Really, I just got lucky that time!”

I think the AI played too much Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit...Hence the grinding was brought in Gran Turismo 5 as well.

G25/G27 will not going to be officially supported in GT5 because they registered the DFGT trademark as GT official wheel, so I don't think they are going to pay another time to make G25/G27 official wheel as they will kill their own products!

Expectations are high when one has played Gran Turismo series from the beginning till now. I'll give it a 8/10. Four for art, four for science. The patches are an indication of half baked game that's dished out in a hasty manner. Period. Let's wait for a month or two and things will be different.

It took this long, and it's classified as hasty. I wonder what makes Duke Nukem Forever then? XD

A game that covers a great deal of magnitude. Burdens are on their shoulder this time around. Anyway, it's a solid game and I'm lovin' it.

A little bit more to share:

user posted image

"As was quickly reported here in our forums, the latest 1.02 update for Gran Turismo 5 has just made available for download. 1.02 allows the game to take advantage of Polyphony Digital’s upgraded server infrastructure while enabling maximum power and weight restrictions for online races.

This is apparently the November 27th update that Yamauchi mentioned to Eurogamer, which will “double” the game’s online capacity from 500,000 to one million simultaneous connections."
