think most of the sifus/linux users know this already, just to add some info if anyone dont know it yet.

two command in xterm/linux that is really useful.

1. ls - to list files in the directory. similar to dir in DOS. use this to check if your .deb is really in that folder before dpkg

2. up key in direction keypad - toggle latest command in command prompt similar to F3 in DOS. useful indeed.

well, you can copy paste codes from the sifus/fp but then i find typing things makes you remember commands and makes you a better user.

Great!

My killer app has to be Jagged Alliance 2. I mean, it's JA2 in my friggin pocket (even if it's modless) - fans of the game will understand the sheer lunacy of that very fact as previously the ONLY mobile way to play the game is by getting a netbook or a UMPC.

And it's slightly better on the N810 compared to the N900 because of the larger screen IMHO. Haven't tried baldur's gate (GemRB) yet tho heh.

That and Tear, even IF I need to use it with leafpad for long text entry because it locks up in LYN so much when I'm trying to reply to you guys. It's not as good as microB on the N900, but it's okay lah.

Plan on setting up knots2 sooner or later, malas to play around with VLC on the computer side lol. For now I just manually re-encode everything to 400x272 mpeg 4 and stuff them into my MicroSD.

hahaha Jagged Alliance..addicted to that a long long time ago. lol. uber game. one of my all time favourites.
if you are into s-rpg Eiraku, try out SNES Ogre Battle : March of the Black Queen. hardcore stuff.

hehe, got my set about 1 week+ ago, so can do what i cant on wifey's set...tongue.gif

1.1k for a sept '10 zitron set + pouch. wifey's set better deal 1050 june'10 zitron with pdair + boxwave metal case +mugen 2400 battery.

anyway, what i did.

1. flashed using FP flash step B. i have done both OTA and flash and i really recommend using flash due to the lower risk of messing things up.

2. powerkernel 46 + swappolube + kinetic scrolling + status menu - who says resistive touch is slow ?heheh.

3. preenv and webos games. ( still need to move them to mydocs, my 2gb is left only 340mb now) . nfsu, nova, settler, assasin creed, sims3, hawx..

4. xtra decoder, mplayer, sim.

5.sygic albeit 9.

6. maemocjk ! hahaha this nails it.

7. coming soon, will buy a microSD for ubuntu. and then sapgui. sapgui on a mobile phone..baha (though you cant call from it though, last i read)

oh, btw add me to the userlist. sorry for not informing earlier.

success.

i admit reading all those repartition guide maketh me dizzy. end up i follow the hex route. hex the RE.bin and change the ext3 to 21gb instead of 2 gb. did ponder whether to change the swap partition to more than 768mb but they said minimal differences so leave it at that.

highly recommended. safest and fastest way to change that 2gb to 21gb and after that if i am not mistaken you can gpart the 21gb.

credit goes to radicalz38.

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=351...SD+ext3&page=24

1.download hex editor neo (i am using winxp)
2.open the vanilla emmc file, the one that is renamed to RE.bin in FP.
3.you will see the file size on the left side. CHANGE the hex value and do not insert the value. follow the math as per describe by radicalz38 for the partition size 1gb=1024mb.
4.i reflash both the pr1.3 and vanilla (R and RE) so no comment if you wanna do only vanilla. experiment at your own risk.

5. normal backup wont cut it as you are flashing the internal memory and it will wipe out all your data including your backup image..lol. (my mistake)

recommend using this to backup first and restore it afterwards. ( i only found this after i reflashed to repartition my n900...lol)

http://www.my-maemo.com/software/applicati...uto=1637&faq=42

bear in mind that for the camera to save pic and vids, you still need the VFAT partition.

cheers. thats what i did and it works for me(21gb of ext3). again, do it at your own risk.

picture 2, vanilla nit download yet which is 250MB.  rclxub.gif  why i need go through this just to format the memory. T.T it will be nice if got some code like *#7370#. done in a minute. gosh. i loved the old time.  tongue.gif
*
its because you are formatting and installing an OS to a computer. not a phone.

Using this, everytime you need to type out something, then need to open the case?
nods.handstrap helps a lot.otterbox or equivalent enables you to slide straight away. i got this for free so i stop the notion to buy an otter. it is a good case.

OC is one thing, but before OC why dont you try swappolube. its effective.

snappy window transition.

after reflash i have yet to install hildon kinetic scrolling but even with swappolube its fast.

i have mugen power. it sure is a powerhouse but the battery indicator doest work properly with that battery.

1. full for xx hours and then red almost empty.
2. after 1,2 empty and full recharge the bar went down almost normal but if you reboot it'll go to full again.

my exp though. now back to normal battery coz i just bought cr-115 car holder. it cant hold n900 with the extension cover on the back.
