Waitng for ur tutorial on it.. ;p

Added on January 3, 2011, 7:58 pm

urm...i playing it with stock speed..

Lambat masa nak loading jek..

Then, ok..
*
nothing for tutorial... its quite simple and exactly same steps as NITdroid 0.0.8 and 0.0.9

1) boot into maemo

2) sudo gainroot

3) mount /dev/mmcblk0p5 /and (or mmcblk1p1 if microsd card)

4) cd /and

5) rm -rf * (this will delete your old NITdroid - assuming you are in /and)

6) bzip2 /home/user/MyDocs/gingerbread.tar.bz (assuming you downloaded gingerbread.tar.bz to MyDocs and you are still in /and folder)

7) tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/gingerbread.tar (assuming you downloaded gingerbread.tar.bz to MyDocs and you are still in /and folder)

8) dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/kernel-26xxx.NIT.deb

9) reboot

10) voila, you can eat your gingerbread

@jananan,

im kinda curious on command "rm -rf "..will it erase maemo's files inside?
last i time i just manually delete folder by folder to make sure im not erasing maemo's stuff.
*
as long you're in the mounted /and folder (which is /dev/mmcblk0p5) and execute "rm -rf *"

it will delete all files and folders in its path and child paths without affecting the parent paths.

if you execute "rm -rf *" from the root /

then god help you...

i mean, even god can't help.

Yup.
Anyway I'm running out space & only NITDroid partition have spare storage space.
Gonna try reduce NITDroid partition to 3GB.

BTW which version of ubuntu are you using?
*
my NITdroid partition was always 2GB++

its more than enough for experimentation anyway.

i left more space for maemo home partition, 25GB to be exact.

duplicates in file manager / filebox or in media player ?

if duplicates in media player but not in file manager / filebox, then i suggest you reset the tracker database and let it rebuild itself.

you might wanna hook it up to charger and use OC'ed profile because it will take some time to rebuild the database if you have tons of media.

Yup.Try the tracker -r method 1st.
h-e-n will work for sure..

Why are you using 2 kernel power 46?Is the modified kernel power have too much stuff running at background to be used for a long time?
Or the modified kernel dependent on default v46 kernel?

It's nice to know packet injection is now working but it's not much useful for me.
Main reason I wanted neopwn was because I want to crack some WiFi password. But since my U hosted quite a number of pros, majority of the wifi are encrypted with WPA2 encryption which will make cracking lot harder...
*
read somewhere that wlan drivers for packet injection kernel sucks battery life like hell...

To flash the bootloader, you have to supply the X-Loader image

how can i fix tis???whre the xloader image???help..
*
you're n900 was detected and ready for flashing but when the tool decompresses the R.bin image there are some files missing.

one more possible situation is you are running out of hdd space.
