It's released in some parts of Europe, but probably Acer Malaysia wants to clear most of its Liquid E first.
I'm waiting for this too |

The Liquid Metal attracts me alot due to the responsiveness shown in the pictures, and at the same time has a new shell, different from what Motrola,HTC,Samsung has done. I like the "flip this page" thingy

That's the thing, it's similar through every aspect (bar the design,in which I prefer the captivate) and sellers are selling at about RM1.4k only lul

SGS = Captivate, check youtube videos, it still moves the same as the SGS, no difference except for the video call camera.

I dont think the liquid metal is made out of plastic thoroughly, it's a phone which comprises of metal + durable plastic. I would give the design an 8 / 10 for creativeness, most of the touchscreen phones currently have too similar designs, and the Acer breaks out of the mould.
This video shows how snappy the phone is To tell you the truth, I don't see any wrong with the processor, it's all just speed on paper. Real life experience is what we want, and that video shows that the phone can move fast. I don't particularly like the Liquid E, too .. bulky lol, added with the white frame around it. |

Hey, who knows, being Acer, a real computer manufacturer, they will come up with updates to gingerbread and all.
Froyo is blazing fast already too |

Yeah.. but with the Breeze UI ontop of the Acer, and most smartphone makers have a shell ontop of froyo/any other android version, it's easy to navigate around the phone. And mostly it's either a swipe left to right or up or down. In the end general users would only want to check FB, SMS, and make a call on the phone.
Us advanced end-users would want more, hence the rooting and all. |

Hey kenny, here's a full review of the liquid metal
Seems quite smooth! -The socialjogger looks quite cool, something fresh for the social networking app. -Multitouch in the internet browser is fluid, also goes for the scrolling of the pages. -Nemoplayer is an all in one , which has all your media, photo , music and videos in there. Get to about 10:50 for the video play, he's playing a DivX smoothly and well. |

Haha no problem.
Hmm? This phone seems capable in amongst other flagship phones by other manufacturers, and the processor is also similar to the higher-priced Desire Z. As for optimizations, you could view the video posted in the first page, all are working smooth. The release date as stated by Acer (I emailed them ) is around January 2011. |

QUOTE Pros * Speedy second generation Snapdragon chipset * Very good call quality * Ergonomic curved design with metallic accents * Innovative Breeze UI Cons * Subpar camera * Easy to smudge screen This is from the review by phone arena. It scores an 8/10 , and frankly, "easy to smudge screen" ? LOL all touchscreen phone does that. Even more in this humid country of ours, oily + sticky can hardly be avoided. So I must say that's not a 'con' for this phone. Camera..? If you would know, it's Acer , company that has most of its revenue coming from notebooks and computers,etc.. They don't make cameras And also I quote phonearena, QUOTE Now off from the outer appearances of the Acer Liquid Metal, to the inner beauty. First off, it is powered by the same Snapdragon chipset found in the T-Mobile G2 and the HTC Desire Z, clocked at 800MHz. Made with the 45nm technology, it has been already overclocked to 1.9GHz by a few enthusiasts. Together with a new Adreno 205 GPU, the processor provides performance that is comparable to the best-in-class Samsung Hummingbird, so don’t let the 800MHz clock frequency fool you. Couple the MSM7230 chipset with 512MB RAM/ROM, and you will rarely feel the interface lagging, or apps slowing the phone down, although it happens. The Quadrant benchmark test consistently scored 1300+, which is a very good result. On the flip side, the Acer Liquid Metal heats up at the bottom significantly with graphics-intensive tasks, such as running the said Quadrant test. This is a phone to consider. I'm stoked between this and the Captivate now. |
