anyone know hot to app2sd+ for metal?

just flashed my unit to 1 of the custom roms t&l Metal from modaco , unit is damn fast n smooth yet no lag so far.

tested so far on :-
gps + papago, gps got locked very fast
wifi speed + android market is smoother n faster too
psx4droid also render n run smooth at 50fps, game tested is suikoden II, previous on stock rom, from default to 60fps also cannot run smoothly.

list below is the changelog:-
- Liquid Metal 1.100.16 (ROM 2.2.2)
- HARD RESET !!!DO A BACKUP!!!
- 80 Mb
- 1.5 Ghz OC kernel with no limit for FPS, thanx vache
- All 14 channels can be enabled in Wi-Fi advanced menu
- SuperUser 2.3.6.1
- Some apps (which can be easily deleted from Application settings)
- tweaks.sh - file (system/bin/tweaks.sh - in ROM sensitivity script is added), where u can put any script to start at boot
- Unusefull Acer apps deleted
- FOTA deleted (eats memory + battery)
- AcerSync.apk deleted (eats memory + battery!!!without it u won't be able to save contacts to phone!!!)
- Optimized lowmemkiller
- Busybox
- Sqlite3
- Gingerbread Keyboard (LatinIME and XT9 deleted)
- Gingerbread Theme (other themes will be later)
- Zipaligned, optipnged
- and some other things)

Hi. what do you think between Samsung Ace and this phone? Both specs seems like not much difference, so does it a worth to spare an extra of RM 300 - 400 to get this phone?

Custom rom got chinese pinyin input support or not?

HD games cant be moved into SD, then does it mean that i cant install a lot of HD games as ROM fully utilized.

if i'm not mistaken samsung ace has lower phone memory compared to liquid metal.

For my own opinion, both also a good phone manufactured by big players in the world. both spec's also very well offered. but ofcoz, acer's winning part is at its latest processor which is the MSM7230 800 MHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU vs the MSM 7227 800Mhz Adreno 200 GPU(Samsung S5830). Screen also Acer bigger abit but tat wont seems much different by our eye by the gab of .1"

Only downside of this Acer is its pic quality. Abit too much noises but ofcoz, if we downside from 5mp to 3mp or 2mp resolution via Photoshop, overall still quite acceptable especially the colour is very pleasant anyway anyhow, depend on individuals lah but definitely, Samsung will win at the pic quality side

the rest, hardware wise, Acer is much newer with alot of extras. While Samsung S5830 still offering something not very new but yet still very capable.

p/s: custom roms is built from their European's rom. so, no chinese input/support is available. but this custom rom truly amazing. very light and fast. gonna try out the rest two roms later will update u guys

evtansk, so far is there any problem using t&m rom? i'm using Metalounay 1.2 at the moment and i'm quite satisfied. but dunno how to comment in detail lol.

btw, liquid metal owners, can u help me out? i want to know if u can go to settings > wireless & networks > vpn settings > add vpn > add l2tp/ipsec crt vpn and tap on set user certificate. can u choose any file to set the certificate? because i've tried using official rom and Metalounay rom, both also cant choose the file to set the needed files to set up the vpn

i heard can install 3rd party chinese pinyin input apps. Anyway, where do you guys buy this phone?

hey there howdy bro glad to hear from u and ur custom rom how's the Metalounay 1.2 doin? now got 1.2.1, u updated to that? maybe tat can help so solve ur VPN issue? which telco u use? if u're using digi or maxis, i believe u can activate them by asking them to send u the setting. or else, another way my colleague taught me was, factory reset the phone, and then set back the VPN to get access to data/mms. else, guess u must try another rom d or search Modaco.com for solutions. So far, i'm still in learning stage at this android thingie so, tat is all i can help.

My rom t&l so far, the VPN is working fine and i can enable/disable it via Quick Settings. So far no problem yet. Only that, i was shocked when i change the UI to Android UI instead of Acer UI, the batt dropped from 75% to 15%...gosh...such a shock, then i switched back to Acer UI, it returned back as 75%. Wonder why is that but so far so good, Acer UI isnt bad at all honestly

After this i wanna try Metalounay and DMD's rom. Both of these ROM seems quite promising

i heard from reviews, one of the down side of this phone is smudged screen...

can anyone clarify what is smudged screen?

is it something permanent like dented on the screen or is it something easily removed after some cloth wiping?

After heavily reviewing and comparing between Galaxy Ace and Liquid Mt through the Youtube videos, forum comments, editor review and specs, then finally I made a decision on choosing the latter. Due to Liquid Mt has more value for money.

Since new to android so better stick with stock ROM and Acer official updates.

Regarding the earphone which comes with a standard package, any good? In-ear type?
As i plan to get a Philips in-ear type of earphone to enhance the audio-wow effect.

i've tried Metalounay 1.2.1 but default setting cant get me connected to any wifi..hv to change certain settings, quite leceh so i just use 1.2
btw i noticed when using Metalounay, battery also cepat habis, maybe i'll just use official roms posted on modaco..i think using acer UI also save battery..btw mind sharing on how u change ur UI? if i can use acer UI on Metalounay, that'll be great coz Metalounay got root and busybox installed by default!

btw, yeah i'm referring to ur posted link..got some trouble with phone's routing..gotta figure dat out..lol but besides that, quite satisfied with the phone. i've tested playing Asphalt 5 on it, so smooth to me. but the phone'll get a bit hot afterwards

oic...wow...almost flash to this ROM but since it is so leceh, i think i'm holding on my current t&l rom 1st hahahaha. bcoz so far, i can get myself online via wifi / data from telco. plus, the gps locking without a-gps is quite fast too. within a minute locked d. so far, this rom has no problem. battery wise, also quite "fair" to us since the kernel clocking it to 1.5mhz, i never expect it to last me 2 days. u asyik on n off, ofcoz u can see the batt dropping. but surprisingly, by got connected via wifi for about 1hour, the batt can stand quite stable without sucking much power.

yeah, infact the latest official rom also quite nice d. but bcoz of i wanna play psx4droid, i got my unit flashed with custom rom which already been overclocked. so far, very happy with it. if not bcoz of psx4droid, i think the ori rom already very very useful and nice to use d

try lah this rom quite ok 1. so far i use, so good.

yo bro, so far so good i should say bout this phone. hardware wise, it is the latest msm7230 800mhz where is doing alot better than the older 1ghz qsd 8250 processor. overclocking wise also more potential than it too. dont be fool by its 800mhz vs 1000mhz older processor. bcoz this msm7230 is a totally whole new platform already. so far the phone is snappy and never experience any big lag. small lag, depend on wat apps u running tat moment where this may happen even to the higher end samsung galaxy s.

all froyo 2.2 support flash 10.1 and it's all pre-installed already when u buying it.

overall, liquid metal is a line ahead of samsung galaxy ace. but ofcoz, only downside is the camera, not as good for a 5mp camera. but useful when u wanna have some quick shots as references. i believe samsung's camera should be better alot.

screen wise also quite ok. no smudge no wat so ever as they all claimed. if it is so bad, guess acer wont dare to even put it out and sell in the market d. liquid is their high end smartphone range, and they know wat they are offering for us consumers

a custom rom allows setcpu at 1.5GHz. Then does it mean that phone will run constantly at 1.5GHz or only applicable on those CPU intensive applications?
