QUOTE(dundermifflin @ Dec 15 2010, 11:06 AM)
we are strong at RW. Nani excel there and soon-to-be-fit Valencia. Park and Obertan are decent back up. Bebe look like more of striker than a winger to me. but i expect nothing from him this season, let him bid his time.

LW are quite worry. Nani, Giggs, Park, Obertan, ATM none of them are really excel as LW. Cleverly is nice prospect, but far from finish article and winger might not certainly his best position. not many excel left footed LW around, or right footed. i like Alexis Sanchez (Udinese). not sure his best position LW/RW or CAM. im quiet sure he's right footed and love to cut in ala Ronaldo /Nani.

winger arent the department we need address urgently. but, January 2011 will be tricky. Park, Valencia arent available. Giggs need a rest between games. hopefully Nani can stay fit and keep his flying form. calling back Cleverly is the simplest option.

IMO, our priority in summer (or January if the price are right)..

Top Class CM > Top Class GK > LW > promising youngster in all positions.

Neville are finished for me. Giggs and Scholes is our hidden aces in big games, start them in bench might give us an edge. 2011/12 are the last for them.
*
The wing position is fine for now IMO. Nani(which means he's LW) and Valencia are the starters, and Park, Giggs, Obertan and Cleverley as backups/squad rotation. More than enough. Nani might find it a bit harder to perform as consistently as on the right from there, but there's not many better around IMO. Valencia with his direct runs, and Nani the tricky winger is a nice combo. Cleverley will be back I think according to SAF which would be good. Hopefully he won't be out injured for long.. heard it's his rib?

We would only miss Park for 7 games. And those games are spread apart quite nicely. Liverpool home, Spurs away.. we would miss Park in those games.

QUOTE(dundermifflin @ Dec 15 2010, 12:24 PM)
for me, fit again Hargreaves is mirage. even he's really come back, he just a squad player like Neville in last season or this. bidding time for recovery, play in reserves to become fit, and play in odd games for 1st team. in and out again.

Anderson seem very promising lately, might do Nani-esque revelation. Carrick and Fletcher are reliable but limited, far from excellent. if they keep progressing and improve, we are still OK.

for me, buying a Top Class CM (and GK) is a must. not the 'value' one. we have talents there, but i really like to see the proven one. a direct replacement for Scholes + Giggs.

im envy of Chelsea's CM and talented Fabregas /Nasri in our rivals engine-room. not to mention Barca or Real.

(but again, buying big not necessarily solve the CM problem. as proven with Hargreaves and Veron. top of the league, but im spoilt, greedy and want more improvement, hehe thumbup.gif )
*
They may be limited, but they've been the ones who play a big part in our recent success over the years, in CL especially. Carrick shielding the back four, and Fletcher in the big games have proven in the last few years they have what it takes to help us go all the way in all competitions and win some of them. Carrick and Fletcher when they are in their better form, are excellent. Carrick is on his way back to getting there, and hopefully Fletcher will find his soon.

And with Ando finally grown up, we're looking at Scholes' replacement right there. You could say he is Scholes+Giggs. Obviously he's not as good as spraying the ball around ala Scholes, but he's able to drive the team forward from the middle, and make through balls ala Giggsy. The three of them make a good combo. Cleverley could end up playing in the AM position too. He's a busy little player.

It's promising right now in that area with Ando leveling up. Though we would miss Carrick when he doesn't play. Not sure we have anyone else shielding the back four better than him. And getting Hargreaves fit, or his replacement is a must since we need that kind of players in the big games. Someone to cover for Fletcher seeing what a big role he plays for us in those sort of games.

Hopefully Gibson will be able to show improvement too. If that happens, we would have our own goalscorer from the middle.

Nani, Giggs, Obertan, Cleverley -- Rooney and Evra can play there as well.

Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson, Scholes, Gibson ---- Giggs, O'Shea.

We're gonna be ok.

Park? Cleverley should be back by then. We'll be all right I think. Giggs is around as well.

Get him back in January, and then loan him back out near the end(loan deadlines are different from transfer's right?) of the deadline. And who knows, if he impresses, he could well stake a claim in the first team. LW/AM/RW.. he could play in all of those positions. Could be handy to have. Hopefully he would take the opportunities give to him. He looks ready to contribute right away.

Can we please refrain from posting these kind of stuff, especially before those kind of games. Chelsea are strong you know and we haven't beat them at SB in ages.
And remember Monaco back then? We got knocked out by them.

Never underestimate teams..

As long as we win it, I wouldn't mind an all English affair. The more, the merrier(semi's). I wouldn't want to be on the losing side though. If it's against non-English clubs, it would be tolerable but against another English side is a no no.

5-10 would be a great return for him. He should target 5 each season and see where he would end up.

the only positive about the postponed is scholes and valencia  could be back

Damn shame really. With us in a good form last couple of games, and them being in really bad form, and a not 100% Lampard and co, this is the best time to play them. Guess we know why Roman sack Arnesen, Wilkins and didn't replace properly the players that left. He needs the money to bribe everyone. First the easy run in the cup games. And then the easy draw in the CL by getting the worst team left in that competition. And now this. They are running scared of us, and sheep I bet. Someone should ban them from all competition I say! vmad.gif

match postpone la pulak.....

.................

btw encik steve ask for permanent transfer for our lad.do you guys agree?

He can have Welbeck on loan for another season if he wants. We have no reason to sell right now, or in the future if he's improving at the rate he is doing now. English, skillful striker, can get goals, can create them.. all round good footballer. He has a bright future ahead. Welbeck-Rooney.. now that's what I wanna see happen regularly in the future. Can add Cleverley somewhere out on the left and Smalling at the back.. fuuh, perfection. biggrin.gif About time we have some English lads playing together for England as well.

Macheda, Welbeck, Cleverley..

SAF is going to leave behind a fantastic team for the next manager. And while waiting for those young ones to iron out the mistakes from their game, we have plenty of players still in their prime who can go on for a years still. We lose great players now and then, and in the not too distant future, the likes of Gary, Scholes, Giggs and VDS will be gone.. but there will always be the next generation who will take over.

Qatar wants to buy us? It's good if the debt is finally gone, but I'm worried with rich owners. They surely would want to have their say in things, and it sure as hell won't be a good thing.
