It's difficult to say who is the best and 2nd best, eventhough most people would say Messi is better..Both players play quite differently, and in different teams too..If Messi goes to other teams/leagues, it's hard to guarantee that he can perform to the level he is at now..

I personally am on the fence with this one, both imo are heads and shoulders above the rest at the moment and is special in their own way..

Ronnie certainly has his fair share of assists, just not as much as Messi..He isnt that creative type of player, he's more explosive and doesnt involve that much in build up play..In Barca apart from Xavi and Iniesta, Messi is the creative force, just like what he does for Argentina where he tends to create more rather than scoring..

the 20/20 one was only one season iirc, 23 goals I rmb..then he started to turn into winger cum striker, more strength, better in air, gets into the penalty box more often.. before that he was on the flanks most of the time, offering crosses, much like what Nani does now..

think their contributions shouldnt be based alone on goals and assists... for example Ronaldo has more influence in the game than Messi ie he brings spark to the team when the team is down a goal or two..no team can compete with the level of creative-ness that Barca has, pass till your death and then score..that's a big factor why Barca scores a lot and hence their players have more assists

PIG definitely had a below par game, looked nervy..definitely could have done better..but to suggest he "destroyed" our unbeaten run is plain ignorance imo...defense was the weakest, but our midfield wasnt that good too

Pique has always wanted to move back to Barca if the opportunity was there, and that summer they made a move for him..surely SAF must be reluctant but he cant keep a player against their will..so it's not really true that SAF has seen more potential in Evans than Pique..but Evans does have potential though let's not take that away from him just after a period of poor form

that's why I said "surely"..He performed very well during his loan spell at Zaragoza, and with age at his side any manager would be reluctant to let him go..

for me it's pure common sense..put yourself into the SAF's shoes, you have 2 world class CBs and 1 wonderkid, out of the blue another team made an offer for your wonderkid, your wonderkid wants to leave for that team while you have no intention of selling him(SAF declared he had no intention of selling him just a few months ago before his transfer)..would you be happy and not reluctantly let him go? I know I wouldnt..No doubt that time he does see Evans potential coming through the ranks with Sunderland but I would be more happy to keep Pique as well..
