yup. that pic of Ole and Saf was on last monday night. It was 15 minutes before the match they held the ceremony. like the last farewell to Ole as that is our last match at home before Ole going to Molde.

Regarding old guards, I can see Gazza retiring at the end of season. While Giggsy and Scholesy will have an another season or two. With Ando coming along, I could see that Scholesy will be pushed to the side slowly.

BTW, any of you think that we should buy an another LW/RW?

I knew right after i read something about Nasri's opinion towards United (something like without Ronaldo and Tevez we are nothing yada yada) on paper. I knew i was going to laugh my ass off if we win against them that day. And i laughed even harder when reading about Wenger blamed the pitch for the lost. Wakaka.

we are strong at RW. Nani excel there and soon-to-be-fit Valencia. Park and Obertan are decent back up. Bebe look like more of striker than a winger to me. but i expect nothing from him this season, let him bid his time.

LW are quite worry. Nani, Giggs, Park, Obertan, ATM none of them are really excel as LW. Cleverly is nice prospect, but far from finish article and winger might not certainly his best position. not many excel left footed LW around, or right footed. i like Alexis Sanchez (Udinese). not sure his best position LW/RW or CAM. im quiet sure he's right footed and love to cut in ala Ronaldo /Nani.

winger arent the department we need address urgently. but, January 2011 will be tricky. Park, Valencia arent available. Giggs need a rest between games. hopefully Nani can stay fit and keep his flying form. calling back Cleverly is the simplest option.

IMO, our priority in summer (or January if the price are right)..

Top Class CM > Top Class GK > LW > promising youngster in all positions.

Neville are finished for me. Giggs and Scholes is our hidden aces in big games, start them in bench might give us an edge. 2011/12 are the last for them.

Thing is, I would rather have a classic winger ala Valencia partnering someone who tends to cut in ala Nani. In that sense, we could have options in attacking. Crossing from byline or to cut inside. Having the same kind of wingers to play would not work all the time, especially teams parking buses in front of their goal.

Realitiscally, I would have someone like Valencia on LW as he loves to cross early. Then we could rotate our set of wingers. Obertan and Nani is the same kind, cuts in and create chaos inside the pen box. Rooney would definitely pleased with benefits in early crossings. Valencia did bunch of them last season, hence Rooney god mode. Giggs is mixed-type and uses his experience and intelligence well but he can't possibly run in every games.

And another CM? Do we really one? With Cleverley coming back, and lots of talent we have in the side, I would say that position is the least of our priority. Ando is coming along as well. We have Fletcher and Carrick. If Hargreaves could get fit, he'll be like a new signing all over again. Top class GK, yes please. Edwin might call things off end of season.

for me, fit again Hargreaves is mirage. even he's really come back, he just a squad player like Neville in last season or this. bidding time for recovery, play in reserves to become fit, and play in odd games for 1st team. in and out again.

Anderson seem very promising lately, might do Nani-esque revelation. Carrick and Fletcher are reliable but limited, far from excellent. if they keep progressing and improve, we are still OK.

for me, buying a Top Class CM (and GK) is a must. not the 'value' one. we have talents there, but i really like to see the proven one. a direct replacement for Scholes + Giggs.

im envy of Chelsea's CM and talented Fabregas /Nasri in our rivals engine-room. not to mention Barca or Real.

(but again, buying big not necessarily solve the CM problem. as proven with Hargreaves and Veron. top of the league, but im spoilt, greedy and want more improvement, hehe )

I would love to have a natural left-footed winger who can cross well in our squad. Nani can cross from the left side but usually he'll have to turn and cross with his right foot, and that takes time. Just like Boxy said, Rooney benefited from early crosses last season. And it doesnt necessarily be a proven player. Bebe maybe? Juan Mata?

And for that CM problem, I'm with Boxy in this matter. We have Ando as Scholes replacement and not to forget Gibson and Cleverly. Fletch, Carrick as the experienced player. Scholes could last another season, and IF Hargo is coming back( ) that's another player in. We are a bit crowded there since most of the games we play only with two CMs. Ravel Morrison anyone?
