Hi all user there... I've been browsing for a new smart phone and came stumbled to Galaxy 5, the price is very affordable, but I have a few question.
1 - From the demo, the calendar are connected to google, which mean I need to be always connected with the internet? is it possible for me to access the calendar offline
2 - I've lot of documents which i need to access fast in form of PDF, DOC or DOCX and XLS or XLSX. Is the file format are supported?
3 - Is there any free apps which might become handy for me?
4 - Is there any front camera for video call?
thanks... I'm not really knowledgeable on handphone, so please don't make fun on me.

QUOTE(StupidGuyPlayComp @ Dec 6 2010, 12:53 PM) 1. The calendar can be offiline/online, you can switch off the online function 2.PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT can be view/edit by 3rd party apps. Anyway there is not recommend you use smartphone to doing office document since the screen is so small. I will suggest for netbook. believe me, dont buy smartphone if frequent access office doc 3. plenty of free apps for android, or you can post the requisition in the thread and we will find the apps for you, we are helpful here 4.no front camera for galaxy 5, and all android phone are not support 3G video call Thanks, btw... I only need application to view those file only, only a minor editing if I need, because lately I've received a lot of call from my clients which usually I'm not in front of my computer. That's why I'm looking for a smartphone. The price for Galaxy 5 are really2 affordable and from my exploration on google, I did not found any problems with this phone except of the small screen size and not supporting flash. For you guys, what is the con- of this phone?

Guys, I've bought the set yesterday... got few questions here.
How do I send MMS? The setting already set as on the 1st post, but MMS I've send can't get out and I've got a MMS but only have the words downloading. The notification bar doesn't pop any connection band.
I've installed Adobe Reader for PDF, what should I install for MS Word and Excel application? just for read purpose only.
Thanks...

QUOTE(StupidGuyPlayComp @ Dec 12 2010, 11:43 AM) Welcome, you need to activate the data connection............... Setting - Wireless & Networks - Enable ALways on mobile network (tick) Use at own risk if you dont have data plan Ouch, that I've disabled, my bill are going to make me sell this phone back. So can't use the MMS system casually? I've activate the always on mobile, but the msg seems did not downloading or uploading.

QUOTE(StupidGuyPlayComp @ Dec 12 2010, 11:52 AM) Thats no way to retrieve mms if not activate the data connection............its applied to all android phone, not only Galaxy 5 because of 2 reason 1. Android is design by foreign developer, not Malaysian, foreign country's data connection are much cheaper than Malaysia..............they expect every user will always activate the data connection 2. MMS require GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSPDA connection, if we block the data connection, they no way to retrieve Done... my way, need to activate the always connected, before sending the MMS, if you have the downloading prompted, reply to the sms then the downloading will be continued. After that, can disable the always connected back. Let see how it will goes like this.
