Acer today debuted an Android-powered smartphone with gigantic 4.8-inch screen and unique 1024 x 480 resolution. At a global event in New York City, the Taiwanese manufacturer showed off a number of cutting-edge products, including the unnamed handset, which is said to launch in April of next year. Billed as a convergence product ("100% smartphone, 100% tablet"), the device is said to feature :

Android 2.3 Gingerbread

4.8″ screen -- with high resolution of 1024×480 and 21:9 aspect ratio

Physical buttons -- 4 keys: Home, Search, Back, and Menu

Dual cameras -- 8 Megapixel, 720p rear with LED flash and 2.0 Megapixel front

i have no problem having dell streak in my pocket, be it jeans or slack.. and i guess this will b better for my pocket.. but acer?

the design seems ugly....

after i encounter poor service and non lasting hardware with acer laptop and desktop makes me think twice before buying any acer product..

i know it's big, but believe me, once u get used to it, u wont find it big anymore.. now, i feel my htc desire and iphone 4 is too small for everyday use.. lol

lol go on to mobile computing section.. we'll share with you that.. all notebooks are having OEM parts.. and the latest Acer's have already improved and proven themselves.. Im talking about 2008 onwards.. Before it was really bad I guess.. If parts fail.. cannot be people blame the brand? it's OEM part..

I think built quality should be same rite, all made in China. But hopefully this all metal phone will prove us wrong

not all china made product is tat bad.. depend on their grade from the country..the china phone which sell so cheap here cannot compare to the branded product..now even nokia mostly also china made....in term of price already expected wat will u get.. so really need to see the price to price first.. imagine u get a rm300 china fon compare to rm1.5k nokia fon.. its five time cheaper..so the quality also 3-5 times poorer but also depend ur luck and how u use it..

anyway, this is the best alternative apart from dell streak which till now still no news.. kinda attractive screen ratio.. hopefully the price is reasonable.. and can be in the malaysia market soonest.. now anything less than 4inch is really not a good display size..
