Too bad ur HTS dint support HDMI input, so i think u have to buy a 5.1 channel sound card which support optical out to play true surround. smile.gif

From what you are showing, you really can't use the multichannel out from the motherboard to the HTS.

Unless your PC has "optical out".....What you can only do is use buy a "3.5 headphone to stereo RCA" jack, plug in from the headphone socket on the PC and onto the Aux in (Red / White) on the HTS.
Then select "Aux in" and Pro Logic II (PLII)..yeah, the surround will be generated from the stereo source using matrix....not true surround, but well, better than only stereo.

Thats one of the reasons before buying anything ppl should think abt the future what they wanna connect. A little bit of homework can do lots to help.

Yeah make sure that the sound card has optical out, then you're done

It should match with optical in of the HT-TZ225.

Correct. Your ports look similar to mine and if I'm not mistaken the white port is for S/Pdif which will transmit digital (for 5.1) but goodluck finding the cable. No-1 in Low Yatt know bout it (at least those SA I spoke to) & I cannot find the cable

Read in the internet that it is mini-toslink but the jack is different.

Actually, it's called COAXIAL CABLE (wired, electron signal) and OPTICAL CABLE (lights).

Both confirms to the S/PDIF standard. Both are S/PDIF connectors and are digital connectors.

S/PDIF=Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format

S/PDIF is a protocol. Both optical (TOSLINK) & Coaxial (RCA) are using S/PDIF format but optical is more common in sound card.

Please check your HT, iinm it only has optical in.

From your picture above, bottom right connector (white color) should be mini TOSLINK connector. Please confirm by checking with your sound card software. Something like this

If it's so, then you just need TOSLINK to mini TOSLINK cable, or normal TOSLINK cable with adaptor. One forumer sell it in Garage Sales, you can find it here

I don't think you can unless you have optical or HDMI out.
