Recently, I purchased SONY 32EX710. By default, it covers up till 2 years. Managed to double check with Sony for an extension warranty. Now another 3 years additional need to pay RM200.

Now my question, is it worth or not to pay additional RM200 for another 3 years extension.
Meaning 5 years under Sony warranty period hmm.gif

Ask yourself, if (just make assumption) your Sony TV got some problem after 2 years, will you feel anything? If yes, then it is worth the $ and if not, then, not worth it. Anything happen after 2 years to your TV, just buy new TV for yourself. whistling.gif

RM200 is definitely worthy for another 3 years warranty.

Once your tv spoilt after 2 years(touch wood...) ,no matter what components malfunction, the repair costs definitely exceed Rm200 (including labour charges).

What is the price of the TV? How many percent is that RM 200 over the price of the TV?

If after 2 years time you can easily pay another TV then probably there's no need for the extended warranty. Otherwise better be safe than sorry.

yeah..agreed with this..and RM200 for extended 3 year warranty is way more cheaper than Samsung's RM800 for 3 year extended warranty..

I did not go for the warranty extension when i bought my sony lcd coz prices are going down everyday and new technology are coming out so fast i think the 2 years warranty is more than enough.

Reason is Samsung focus more on looks rather than it's durability. That's y we have to pay a bit more on extended warranty for them to cover up. After 1 year or 2 years, sure got problem (Mostly). Best example my father's led samsung. Just bought 3 months ago (Series 4) now send for warranty already doh.gif . That's the main reason I switch to Sony.

That's true but there are cases LCD broke down conveniently after the warranty expires.
When that happens even single replacement of parts going to be expensive compare the initial extended warranty cost.
If I were to buy, I'll be looking for min 4-5 years of warranty (preferably provided by the manufacturer)

Most of Korean brand (Samsung, LG) have beautiful outlook. That's the truth. Reliability wise another story.
If you have opportunity check yourself the internal construction between Korea n Japan.
