Congratulations!

Try looking at the Facebook groups. Usually they will make signing sessions or you could just seek for one in your area in the FB group.

Latest project - Codeplug reverse engineering.
Got hooked on to DMR radio. Also, warning to all people that wants to get into the DMR world, NEVER BUY TYT RADIO! They cause massive interference because they leak transmission into both timeslot of TDMA.

Only if you want to make international contact. In normal cases, you can just use it on simplex DMR mode.
The radio still can support analog so you won't have any problem making normal contact as usual on repeater or simplex.

For me, I am using DMR simplex between my friends and occasionally use analog channels for HAM repeater on the same radio since it supports both.

Nowdays got companies like Electcoms offering DMR repeater rental which can link the whole semenanjung using DMR trunking on 420MHz(UHF). Not sure about the rate for Electcoms but there was another company which offers trunking at RM 40 per month. RM 400 per year.

It is about the hobby haha
Mostly talk with people. Some enjoy making their own antenna. Some enjoy doing stuff like RF hacking. Some likes to just meet up with fellow HAMs for makan2.

For me, I mostly do RF hacking which involves scanning the air for traffic including decoding digital transmissions.

Perhaps you should start watching Youtube on HAM radio and see how you like it smile.gif

I want to start with cb antenna on mobile..perhaps can get the hf and connect to another country..have u do that?

Anyone here from Miri? Any exams held there?
Might consider having ham radio license mainly for the ability to use UHF (433MHz) legally for RC plane flying  blush.gif

Im not sure that RC plane flying is in amateur radio skop.

Fees as always is rm50 for RAE and morse code exam.

Application of AA is rm60 and for each time of renewal plus fees per year. Class B is rm24 per year and class A is rm32 per year. Each time can only renew up to 5 years. That is rm60 application/processing fee plus how many year u want to renew. Rm60+rm120 for 5 years =rm180. All this info is in the guideline by mcmc. Just look it up
