it's happened to me too..
i just uninstalled kies, download and installed with a new one..
but fyi, my SGS is unroot

we send our first captain jujx to fight with them. LOL

The latest Kies I've got (this morning at 0300hrs) is 1.5.3.10103_102.  What's yours?

I think you couldn't update because JF4 supposed to upgrade to JG4. Then JG4 to JPA.

You need registry hack or flash via Odin.

Don't bother using KIES to update, it has given me more problems than using ODIN. Not to mention its damn slow as well.

The latest kies version is 1.5.3.10103.102

BTW, I found a good tip from hardcore's blog (I think it's his blog).. I hate 2G because it's slow as hell, and HSDPA is speedy but makan battery.. Have now set my phone to 3G only (UMTS max 384kbps download speed) to see if it's good enough for me or not..

Icon on the notification bar has changed from H to 3G. Speedtest confirms capping at 384kbps.

make sure  ur  3 button download mode is working b4 u flash ..

press & hold  volume up + home button + power button  will bring u into recovery mode
press & hold  volume down + home button + pwer button will bring u into download mode ...

no need to rush .. just press them slowly ...  use 2 hand , press & hold  volume up buttome 1st , then press & hold home button , then only press and hold power button .. let go the button once u see the samsung words  , its should boot into recovery mode ....  if cannot  , try 1 more time .... if still cannot ... mean u need to apply 3br fix  ....

ok, if u at the recovery mode, u wanna get out, just choose the reboot. moving around using the vol button, and to select, press the home button
if u are in the download mode, press the power button or pull out the battery will do

LOL .. i remember last time when i 1st apply 3br fix in to my SGS .... its so kan jeong ...

U will not void ur warranty by using odin to upgrade ur ROM. However, u will void ur warranty if u ur phone is rooted. So, please unroot it if u gonna claim for ur warranty.

EDIT: when you're in APN, press menu button then New APN, key in and create a new one

OK, thanks. I m now able to key in after going to edit mode in menu. but the keyboard doesnt have spacebar!! how to separate "digi internet" without the spacebar in the keyboard???
