i would like to say, stop blaming the firmware ... i have been monitoring my battery usage and its been doing great so far and its not just me, some others trying out dxjpa have either no comment or some good comment on the battery life .. i would suggest that u check ur application and other stuff b4 jumping to conclusions.

i am on DXJPA + speedmod k9a 300hz without any lagfix/tweaks ... and gallery bus sensor has been on for the past 2 days ...
Phone been unplugged for 20hrs sharp (as of this posting time)... currently at 42% ...
used wifi for over 2hrs during lecture, Krazy kart racing for 10mins, LOADS of texting, average of 20mins phone calls, gallery bug for 19hrs 33mins, LBStestMode 8mins, few stages of angry birds + repeat of failures, plus some other stuff including my friends testing out my phone with his sgs ...
addon: brightness around 20%, data network off, 3g watchdog on, network set to GSM/WCDMA (auto mode) ...

Hi @kmrdeva, what is your battery performance like on speedmod k9a?
I'm on k9a-256hz, as I mentioned. The thing about battery life is that it depends on many things (network, apps, usage etc). Generally, for me, my phone just makes it thru the whole day for me (8am to 10pm) with about 15% of juice remaining when I get home. Have uninstalled k-9 mail client (big batt sucker) and am considering to remove bloody Tweetdeck too. Still on Launcher Pro Plus, though..

Note : I don't do GPS at all, and neither do I play much of videos or music while I'm outside. Plus, I am not a gamer.

Yea. I agree on K9 email client, I hv uninstalled it as well. As for tweetdeck, it becomes inseparable for me, haha. It is the best twitter client I have ever use.
Btw, I have set tweetdeck to manual sync, saves batt juice alot, only set the Me column and direct msg column to auto-sync every 6 hours.

What is your idle batt consumption? Like if overnight, how much it drop? smile.gif

Guys, this is my result on playing two kernels with DXJPA. Speedmod K9A 300HZ and YA-OK 1.31.

Both kernel running all tweaks, no BLN and No RFS Overkill+No Bind. Quadrant score obtained on average after 3 runs on each kernel are 1,830 for Speedmod and 2,083 for YA-OK.

From my observation. YA-OK is good in idling, around 1% - 2% per hour whereas Speedmod consumed 2%-3% per hour. But once using the phone, the extra 200MHz in YA-OK does sip juice more than Speedmod on roughly 1% extra especially launching an application as YA-OK will throttle to 1.2GHz then settling down.

For non wireless application or activities usage, both kernel roughly using the same amount of juice.

My conclusion, if you're light user and wanted to brag about the phone in front of "Other" brand... YA-OK is the best, longer active usage should be Speedmod but the difference is only by a fine margin. Your mileage maybe vary and the result might be reversed if using custom ROM.

Advantage on No RFS Overkill over No RFS Advance is the database write.

For me, I will stay with YA-OK first as I have 6 IP4 to battle with in my office. One down five more to go. biggrin.gif Hopefully, it won't FC in the midst of the battle. notworthy.gif

Yeah... but not to extend like having it seriously, mostly during TT or lunch with neutral party act as judges hahah.

On overall, it something like this....

"My IP4 can do this, can ur phone do the same?"

"Yes and I can make it the way I want, can you?" then silence...... biggrin.gif

I'm using scheduling as push will suck more battery. I bought JuiceDefender+UltimateJuice when I'm having my Desire so it kinda waste if not using it in my SGS. It control all my sync schedule currently.

I can live without k9mail, but losing tweetdeck is gonna cause me some pain. Have to tell you, though, tweetdeck's support for foursquare is crappy - half of the time, tweetdeck doesn't find the site name (e.g. Restaurant ABCXYZ) when I search for places near me while the official foursquare client works perfectly every time. If cannot do all protocols with 1 app, maybe 3 separate apps will do.. sad.gif

Still searching for a twitter & facebook client works for me, since I kinda like the official foursquare client app.

I lose about 10%-15% overnight (11pm-8am) if I do not plug in my phone to the charger. Must be because Titanium Backup has its full backup schedule @ 4am, sms backup/restore tool runs @ 5am, and call logs backup/restore tool runs @ 6am, not to mention wifi and 3g are both on at night (i.e. gmail push, gtalk, whatsapp always active).

I'm on speedmod kernel k-9a 256hz and also using launcher pro plus. What is laggy for you? Scrolling up and down in the app list? No problem for me there, I've even enabled 3D drawer.

yes, scrolling in the app list is laggy without 3D drawer. however ive tested the 3D drawer as well, and its very smooth!
