QUOTE(rainbow6 @ Dec 1 2010, 10:47 AM) Anyone dare to go and submit police report of this blatant fraud by TM? Anyone send a letter to Starprobe to probe on this? Great job bro I be sending one soon and the draft of the letter is as follows: CODE Dear Starprobe Editors, Recently there has been many complaints and grouses by internet users that has fall under deaf ears. TM is now using its Fair Usage Policy to scam or robbing users of their rights. Please read the threads from the largest ICT forum in the country for the complaints and grouses and this threads has been growing at such an alarming rate that shows it is true. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1658461/+180 http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1648653/+1980 Please run a story in this and find out why are consumers being cheated blindly by TM. My company is a subscriber of TM Corp package and we are paying RM468.00 a month and in the course of our operations, we are required to download patches and open source software from international providers. The main reason for subscribing this is to get 4mbit download for files that we need. Most of the files that we downloaded averaging 1-4GB in sizes. With 4mbit, we should be able to get the files in about 4 hours the last few months but now the same file will take us 4 days to download if we are running in during office hours. Not only we are cheated by TM, it also affecting our work schedule in such a way that productivity is reduce tremendously. TM claimed to have spend billions to upgrade their capabilities but so far it only showed TM is reducing the bandwidth capabilities of most users instead of the other way around. On behalf of all the users in the forum, I would greatly appreciate it if starprobe can clarify and probe TM of this millions of ringgit of legal fraud. TM claims that they have 2mil subscribers and growing and IF each subscribers paid RM100, that is a collection of RM100,000,000.00 a month, but most of them are getting the speed and capabilities of RM68 (which is a 512Kb package) only. How can TM justify what they are doing? The Fair Usage Policy is now being used to the advantage of the provider. Who is protecting the end users in this case? There should be a Fair Users Policy to protect the consumers. AND THIS has being going on for far too long. This email will be published in the thread mentioned above and I really hope that starprobe is taking this urgently. Feel free to add more into the letter, and we can send this to all the newspaper editors and get all of you to sign-off on this letter. Time to fight back for our rights. |

QUOTE(neo1027 @ Dec 1 2010, 12:30 PM) Actually bandwidth cap and bandwith throttling are different things. Bandwidth cap means amount of bandwidth that ISP give to you for a certain time such as day or month. For example unifi VIP5 with 60GB/month cap quota, you can download total up to 60GB only using 5mbps speed. Bandwith throttling means ISP limit your download speed to their desire speed For example TM throttle 1mbps streamyx from your normal speed 180kb/s to 50kb/s. Normally throttle will be implement when you reach download cap quota. But what TM doing now, they just throttle your speed without any reason because streamyx package don't have any bandwidth cap like Unifi. |

QUOTE Account No. D93996-xxx-xxx This is my email to impact@tm.com.my and CC to help@tm.com.my Login ID: xxx@streamyx Contact Number: xxx Current Dynamic IP Address: 118.101.xx.xx Dear Streamyx Customer Service, 1. I am a personal applicant for the Streamyx Combo 1Mbps package. I wish to highlight to you regarding problem happening to internet service at my house. 2. I had an experience decrease of download speed mostly at night and on international site since recently. I believe that my bandwidth speed have been throttle by Streamyx, because last time a can get around 120kb/s or more when downloading. 3. Based on this slowing experience, I already test (1 Dec 2010 at 10pm) my bandwidth speed on speedtest.net and this is what I got ![]() Lastly, I am quiet disappointed with your services and I hope that a good explanation would be provided. Thank you. |

QUOTE(Tentris @ Dec 2 2010, 04:11 PM) Don't hold your breath for this. 180GB would be perfect for VIP5. But i'm still vote for unlimited. To be honest, Unifi is not bad. But that 60GB cap is too small. At least 100GB would be reasonable. I'll bet they will increase the cap before they enforce it. If TM start implement cap but still got problem on their network, I cannot imagine what excuse they will tell us. |

QUOTE(Stormy001_M1A2 @ Dec 2 2010, 06:24 PM) Done. It is list of capped areas around Malaysia, I just want to see the pattern. Interestingly, no one from Kelantan or Kedah reporting any caps yet. Or even Terrengganu. I already chat with my friend at kelantan and he say that he not experience slowing at all recently. Maybe it is just matter of time. |

QUOTE(ssslayerrr @ Dec 2 2010, 08:01 PM) ![]() I must say, this is truly an achievement, not did they just manage to throttle the international traffic, but local as well, they must be patting themselves on their back, a job well done. Now they can all go for a tea break, minum kopi. I can tolerate slow speeds, when it is due to their incompetence, accidental...... what pisses me off so much now is that this is intentional. I'm wasn't using my connection for anything else when doing this. So, now malaysia ranks 98 on speed test, another wonderful achievement. |
