i remember back then when the manga boom haven't infected Gempak
lots of very nice comic, nowadays i just bought Gempak because of peer pressure only
it has lost its originality

1.) Facial expression, maybe n perhaps some have difficulties on that while some doesnt.
n bout quality, its not quality, its the drawing style. see Lat instead, n its our signature comic style.
try not compare with Naruto/Bleach with Crayon Shin Chan; Marvel/DC comic with Dilbert/Garfield comic.
No comment on those local 'manga' artist tho.

2-4) refer to 1.

5) If u read Comic House/GempakStarz published BM-translated Japanese manga, it ok. Just dun throw in Kreko n Arena, coz they translate without licensed n sell it in bundle. If u ask urself, do they ever release em in normal volume book? they dun coz they dun have the right. Those magazine like japanese 'phonebook' are mean to read n dispose, hence the quality of the paper, n they will release em in Volume type, Gempak did the same with their, but not Kreko n Arena. so go figure why they wouldn't bother. n censorship are due to our country, i find it no problem, even they censored n erase cigarette/boobs, it doesnt affect the story content, unless ur talking bout purely fanservice manga.

Yup, Gempak do change a lot...but that's why they still survive.

Sometimes reading the old Ujang, Apo?, Gila-Gila and Gelihati really cracks me up.

Those were the time.
