Hi everyone...my 1st post in the casing and modifications forum...

I have been looking for 2 items in Low Yat Plaza for almost 2 times now
however, none of these 2 items can be found in plaza lowyat...

the 2 items are:

1) 8 pin EATX 12v extension cable (normally in 30cm length)

2) A dust filter for 120mm fan (in fact all sizes also dont have)


Been searching at lowyat plaza thoroughly but none of them have it...

Any ideas of where u can get the best customization pc accessory parts?
I saw a guy in the LYN trade zone is selling both the items...but charging at a very high premium..
like RM24+ for a 30cm cable and about RM18 for a filter...


I own a CM 690 II Plus
the side panel fan comes with a annoying swirling sound when it was on..
i look into the web...and notice that it is a very common problem and definitely not caused by the fan...

the solutions recommended is either....
1) install a dust filter to the fan (to limit the air intake?), or
2) cut out the stupid plastic that cause the sound

Any other solutions?

fan filter is almost unheard of by the sales people in LYP
8pin mostly they said dont have..
only got 4pin..

i bought 2x 4pin EATX cable...
but i notice that got 1 side cannot fit in accordingly..

yup...not all great stuf n hardware can find at plaza lowyat...

extension....mebbe ALL IT or Sri Comp has it...not too sure..but i remember seeing something like that before

fan filter....the shop behind ATE has it... saw it there when i was buying my 1m SATA cable from them

look at garage sale. niclasteoh have both items you're looking for. but quite pricey. other than that he's services are awesome

nope..they don't have 8pin...best they only provide the 4pin..or maybe 6

not becoz i cant afford..but...buying a 2 piece of plastic for RM18...
just doesnt match my satisfaction...
will keep that as last resort though..

Just go to Pasar Road, you can find it in most of the electrical and electronics shop. Look for Nixie - just along Plaza Pudu

but are there any pc parts selling over there??
to my knowledge the electrical shops mostly sell dvd players, hi-fi, TVs etc..

The items that you need does not only belong to pc parts category, it's also widely used in other industries. You can directly go to Nixie and ask or any other kedai kedai yang sewaktu dengan nya .

But in Nixie : You have to buy the wires, and the connectors separately. Fix the extension cable DIY style or ask them if they can do it for you.

If you ask my personal opinion, just buy online - Safes the hassle and time

Bro....i went to pasar road today...
i saw niksin but not nixie..

until i walk to Pudu Plaza...Nixie is just opposite..
but it was closed on sunday >.<

will try go again on the weekdays...

oh ya 1 more thing...the exact road name is Jalan Landak

not all of it can find at jalan pasar...even peltier(thermol elektric cooler) just one shop only sell it, no choise at peltier watt. even seller dunno the name...the seller not know its name...she call it coll n hot plate...lol seller...yuck

I checked at Nixie and a few other electrical shop..
no 8 pins at all...
they got 4, 6, 9 pins..
jus not 8pin..
even if they have..the connectors wont be the same...
most connectors are round + square
by any standard...not pc parts..
