Is the server down now?
I get a message saying "Server in maintenance".

Just trying to confirm it's actually a maintenance, not blocked.
Because proxifier no longer working yesterday, but I managed to bypassed it using old HShield file, played for the whole night no problem.
Just now, there's another update, and I afraid it may be blocked again.

EDIT: NVM...proxy down, not server down lol. I am in!

I am trying to decide on my expertise.
I have 2 chars I wanna focus on: Evie and Fiona.
Not because these are gals, but because:
Evie = flexible, can support can aggressive. Plan to play scythe till the end, then max staff skills too.
Fiona = I like swashbuckler, I always play one whenever I have the chance, in any games, online or not. And I really like the fact that, unlike a lot of RPG where shield is just another item for more def stat, or only block by chance, Fiona can actually block manually with shield depends on my personal skill.
Lann = Tried, but dislike it...he's not "true" dualwielding...dualwielders supposed to attack fast, with 2 swords at different tempo or alternating...but Lann is using 2 swords like there's only 1...attack and retract at the same time, never alternate. Just a matter of personal preference...

Anyway, I wanna focus on expertise for making armors. There's 3: Armorsmithing (Light + Heavy), Tailoring (Cloth) and Platesmithing (Plate + Shield).

Since I am focusing on Evie + Fiona, pretty sure Armorsmithing is a must. Since I have 2 chars, 1 learn Armorsmithing, the other can choose between Tailoring and Platesmithing.

My question: In end-game, what will Evie and Fiona wear?
I am assuming:
Evie(Staff) = Cloth?
Evie(Scythe) = Light?
Fiona = Dunno...Heavy? Plate? You tell me tongue.gif

So...which one I should learn? Tailoring or Platesmithing?
Please advice, O' Vindictus Veterans!

Oh btw, I am on East server, both char about lv25, near the RAID quest for Hoarfrost Hallow, which needs 6 people...anyone wanna team up for it?

So...actually I need Tailoring + Platesmithing, not Armorsmithing? Ok...I'll start learning Tailoring on Evie and Platesmithing on Fiona.

The raid can be solo-ed? I thought it says need 6 person to even start it...

All content in this game solo-able?

Proxifier can't be used anymore, unless you replaced your HShield with the older version...but I don't think that's a 100% working way.

2 things I tried, sure works:
1) Google "Proxycap Vindictus", you will get a lot of result, including videos showing you how to get into Vindictus using proxycap.
2) Use the OpenVPN program recommended by other user earlier: hostizzle.com

2) is the easiest path.

Anyway, anyone know between Evie(Staff) and Evie(Scythe) which is better for soloing up to max level? I am facing a hard choice here...

Is it possible to survive in this game, totally without leveling those expertise?

I tried leveling my Tailoring and Platesmithing...only to found out that:
1) whatever I can craft = NPC can too.
2) it drains money VERY FAST...major money-sink.

Any advice on expertise? Should I care leveling it? What's the consequences or drawbacks if I don't level it at all?

Don't use proxycap + openVPN together at the same time...only one of them at a time.

If you use proxycap, other than vindictus.exe, you also need NMService.exe added to the rule set.

Seriously guys....stick with OpenVPN and forget all the troubles...

Anyway, any veteran know about expertise? Can I survive without it? How much different will my journey be with or without it?

Expertise in my humble opinion is a must especially if you want the looks ( tailoring ) and stats ( the others eg, weaponsmithing, platesmithing, goldsmithing ) and not to mention the side money you gonna earn from it. Just take tailoring for example , one of my guildie is already at proficiency of 194 / 199 and you start to see people selling those homebound sets and natural sets for like 700k or more although it does take hours to craft and the materials are expensive but overall you still get the profit and homebound is quite a lovely set too. As for stats, you get to craft 1-5 stars items, I went goldsmithing due to the accessories crafting where you can craft up to the highest tier accessories now compared to other  expertise which only craft up to the lv58 set. 3stars items gives an estimate of  5-10% stat bonus 4stars at 10-15% and 5stars at 20-25%. Expertise do take alot of time and alot of gold to rank though. There's x2 expertise going on till tomorrow ( PST 00.00 Monday / GMT+8 15.00 Monday ) so make good use of it.
*
Are you saying that, there's some armors/items unobtainable unless through crafting?

Ok, so crafting can get you rich, that's good. BUT, I am not really interested in getting rich there. All I want, is to enjoy playing, and make sure majority of the time I spend on entertainment is actually entertaining.
I am trying to weight here...
See, I really don't like crafting, I find smashing bosses much fun. HOWEVER, IF spending, say, 10% of my total playing time to do something boring (such as crafting) will make my journey/gameplay easier/funner by, say, 50%, then that 10% cost is a cost I willingly pay. Hope you understand what I mean?

In short, I am wondering exactly this:
How difficult to "get-by" in this game without crafting?
How much more "easier" my gameplay will be, if I spend time crafting?
What am I missing out if I don't do crafting? Is there special quests that give special stuffs, which needs you to complete some crafts?

You can survive without those expertise but you will be missing some of the stuffs. As for whether expertise makes the jourmey easier, just slightly . The reasone due
- crafting at npc requires gold while expertise don't but needs time
- npc crafted item WILL always be 2 stars while you get a random of 1-5, rarely 1 and 5
- less materials needed to craft using expertise
- you get three extra title without stat bonus each time u passed a test
- you can get some set only craft-able via expertise like homebound but the stats are  pretty negligible , just for the looks as i mentioned
- some items are only craft-able via expertise but they are pretty negligible
- generate some golds by selling profession

Cons
- expertise takes a LOT of time... probably be spending hours crafting there
- mats needed to rank expertise are way overpriced
- mats not available in marketplace which can be frustrating
- offers only up to level 58 equipments which is one tier lower than the current one , level 61 equipments
- 89-99 proficiency takes 1 day per craft due to the quest where you have to clear specific dungeon for 3 times to get 3 proofs and exchange it for 2 beginner
  finish
- 189-199 proficiency takes 2 days per two crafts due to the daily quest I mentioned earlier, just that you need 3 beginner finish instead of 2 and you can only get
  2 per said day
- 289-299 proficiency takes 2 days per craft , you'll be needed 4 beginner finish per craft

Overall, you don't lose much if you skip expertise if you just play the game for the joy of hacking and slashing, you'll just be missing one component of the game but I still recommend you take some time into if you are willing to spend some gold.

You can uncheck the box at the proxy instead of the rules which will use your normal IP to play instead of the proxy server IP. For less spikes and lags, use OpenVPN especially paid one like Surfbouncer which gives you 1-2 bars in most of the hosts and you get less spikes and lags due to the TCP / TAP eventhough is 1 bar. If it's still spiky and laggy most likely is either your connection is poor in general ( < 5Mbps  ), host is lagging ( connection-wise or computer-wise ) , or your computer itself is lagging.

Thank you very much. I think I understand now.

Regrettably...my decision is still not to care about crafting at all, for now...the cost is still too high (money + time + whatever other sacrifices...maybe I'll wait a bit, at least until the money factor "cooldown" - it's hot now due to the event of double crafting exp).

Besides, I could probably just buy whatever nice-looking armors from those crafter, with all those money I saved (plus the time I saved, which could be used on earning more money).

However, I'll keep an eye open for the materials, and whatever I need to get those "beginner finishers"...just in case I changed my mind in the future. And probably I'll spend some time crafting whenever I ran out of silver tokens...which haven't happen at all thus far XD

Thanks again, I bet your information will prove very helpful to all those newbies like me!

I went to MPH forum, got the HS v1.5, also proxycap 4.20.
Did everything as instructed:
1) Installed proxycap, replaced HS folder.
2) bind vindictus.exe to port 20715 (in fact, all exe found under vindictus folder, includes those in HS folder), enabled proxycap, blah blah blah...

But I keep getting 2 messages:
1) Disconnected from server: Reponse delayed.
2) Authorization failed, please login through the website.
Sometimes only 1 comes out, sometimes only 2, but sometimes both...

What the hell is going wrong? Any way to connect by using ProxyCap? Anyone managed to get in using ProxyCap?

Can someone please tell me EXACTLY what you did to connect? Any setting I am missing out?

This is driving me crazy...

I uninstalled, deleted entire nexon folder, then re-installed vindictus.
Uninstalled and reinstalled ProxyCap 4.2 from official website.

I still get those 2 messages:
- "Disconnected from server - Response delayed"
- "Authorization failed - please login through the website"
Sometimes only 1 of them pops up, sometimes both...

This is freak'n annoying...

What I did:
1) Find a working proxy with Proxifier's ProxyChecker. I usually test the same site for 3-5 times, making sure that it works for all 3-5 tries.
2) Paste that address and the port into ProxyCap's UI. Close ProxyChecker.
3) Add Vindictus.exe and NHMService.exe to the Rule, everything else on default settings, nothing else changed.
4) Enable ProxyCap, then run Vindictus and try to play...but always failed and get those 2 messages.

Since you guys said nothing needs to be done on the Nexon\Vindictus files, there must be something wrong with my ProxyCap settings?
What you guys did with proxycap to get it working?

Sigh...same thing...but thanks a lot for trying to help!

That left only one possibility right? --> ProxyCap settings?

Can someone tell me their detailed proxycap settings?

Everything in that video is fine...except one part:
The part where you enter your account ID and password into a program written by someone who I shouldn't trust without any good reason.

Yes, this method might work...but it might also send your userID and password to *someone else*.

Any other less suspicious method?
