Another option is SX, their guitars are good and cheap. i'm using a SX ash Strat copy, better then Squier man!
*
Correction, way better than most Squiers, there are some exceptions though, some Squier some how are absolute gems.
Same goes for SX too tho.

A good tips .. thanks ..  notworthy.gif . Just received the Farida price list from the guitar store but it's a little expensive, more than Rm 1000.  doh.gif .
Wah .. this is the hard part for the beginner or amatuer like me. Only professional know how to do this, perhaps? rclxub.gif

If there's only 1 guitar of the model left, but it have a little defects like crack joints. Is it possible they keep another undefect model in the store until the defected guitar sold for the unlucky customer?

Actually, haven't the cube series dropped in price? I'm pretty sure for bout 500 for the amp you could get a cube 15/30. The 30 watter might be a longshot but the 15 sounds quite realistic. I think Vox AD series also in that league for the 15/30 watter.

He said he wants something small because he moves around..... so the microcube is the best bet.

Ah, I missed that. Then microcube is the best.

I tried the pirate series, I don't think they're half as good as the first few SX guitars. I vouch for older SX copies.

jz tod tat jpop like ayumi songs wunt need so much gain of humbucker
single coils wil do smile.gif jz very personal

Ayumi's guitarist uses a PRS singlecut quite often
a vintage sounding bucker would fit the bill more IMO

if you want to copy Yoshio Nomura's tone,
this is just a suggestion btw
because the PRS single cut is lighter sounding then a Gibson les paul
i think getting an SX or Agile LP copy then slap a dimarzio paf pro [to balance out the deeper mids] in the bridge
should sounds somewhat like a prs single cut with a fatter bucker

of course this is what I think only, not too sure what the outcome would be.

how bout the other pros give some input
heres a clip of him giving a rather simple but nice solo

YUI's band use a strat and tele very often, boa's band most of the time sounds like thick sounding guitar, iirc also a PRS like Yoshio Nomura.
I think its better you consider a strat like guitar with a mahogany body [like an ibanez GSA60.]

Tone wise an LP copy could bring you close to what you want, but playability wise its not very good, and im a lp user myself.
i'd personally suggest an SG copy?

Not really big on genre-classification, but I think it's under progressive biggrin.gif
The upper neck access needs some getting used to...
As in hard to play notes on higher frets, but still playable though...

+1

playing anything on 22nd fret is hell tho
doesn't help that i have short fingers =/

QUOTE(dilin @ Aug 17 2008, 06:41 PM)
Just dropped by Bentley today, and took the chance to check out the new Classic Vibe Squiers. The 50's Tele looked especially sexy, with a Mary Kay blonde finish on the pine body. The grains on the back are quite visible, and with the black guard, I could pretend it's an Esquire. Neck is glossed maple, no sharp fret ends, neck joint was good and tight. It even comes with the brass vintage saddles.

The 50's Strat neck was similar to the Tele, but the trem block was smaller than the pre-06 MIM Strats. Sunburst could be better, as on the upper back contour it was black all over. I didn't touch the 60's much, but I thought the tortoiseshell PG kind of cheap, and the dry rosewood board unappealing, although lemon oil could help.

I didn't test the intonation and sound through the amps as I was in a hurry, but overall, from first impressions, I think Squier hit paydirt with this new line.

They all retail for RM1390, Chinese made.
