Smells like plastic burning smell.. Not confirm its plastic burning lah.. But i will go ask the SC to check it out when i go there for my next service next mth..

hi guys can share with me the auto fc around how much ?
*
Hmm city driving its a bit on the high side lah.. 9.5-11.5L/100km based on getting stuck in subang jam every morning and evening.. But if u travel long distance and do a lot of highways most of the time then its very economical.. can get 6-8.5L/100km..

U can get 2.4L/100km if u go downhill all the time like from genting to genting sempah.. XD

See my fuelly and u can get a rough idea of how my FC is.. Btw use Esso.. Its good.. Even my friends who drives Myvi also supports that.. Shell is the worst.

Hmmm.. 11.11L/100km.. Maybe u change gears at too high rev?? Or maybe ur engine oil u use thick version or too much engine oil?? Use Esso 95.. XD

I will be in Taman Bunga Raya at Tar College there tonight hanging out.. Bored staying in subang yet not going to club tonight. tongue.gif Anyone from there want to meet up yum cha there? Feel free to call me at 016- 7477577.. icon_rolleyes.gif

erm... not really high rev. just maintain each gear before 4k rpm. i using petronas, i try before ron 95 and ron 97, no different. eventually stick back to ron 95.

subang? i alway work at subang hi-tech. which part u r?
*
4k high loh.. Normally cruising on highway i change gear around 2-2.6k rpm.. sometimes might pull to 3-3.2k rpm then i change ady..
Wah so near eh.. I stay behind ur office only.. Casa Subang..

i dont trust those.. aftermarket RnD .. which is based purely on random testing...
but i think is more likely the engine cannot stand it...tat's y most  oem turbo like those from vw and even the new proton turbo... has somesort dynamic pressure control system...built-in...haha which i believe are result of million of dollar of RnD...

Yeah.. Just read those BMW how they R&D for their turbocharged engine.. Even the aftermarket manufacturers like Garrett were impress with the advancement of technology.

QUOTE(tks068 @ Dec 19 2010, 05:22 PM)
hi all personarians,

i have recently getting attention on this car and  i have went for a test drive, after some discussion with the SA, he offer me 2k rebate with 200 tint voucher (not sure about the 200 voucher cos was abit of hurry XD). however the condition is that i have to book and get a number plate before 25th on December 2010 lol.

So my question is, is 2k rebate worth it ?
i am actually still deciding as i havnt test out inspira, and i personally abit annoyed by the the sudden high rpm when switching gear (due to campro and ecu ??), the response seems abit slower/slugish on the pedal

BTW i am opting for M-Line Manual Transmission.
Please help,

thanks all in advance.
*
Yeah 2k rebate is worth it if u are planning to use the car for quite some time as the difference in resale value after that period is negligible.. Sudden high rpm when switching gear?? Easy, just ease ur foot off the throttle when u anticipate a gear change, normally u will know at around what RPM the gear will change.. Its u being too heavy footed.. Every car will be like that, even BMW.. Its due to the engine revving cos the gear was disengaged momentarily and u will still accelerating..

Btw the elusive power window motor klock klock sound has finally started to plague me today.. Somebody had a solution here last time.. What was it again?

i'm sorry if i said anything wrong, cos i'm inexperience when come to mechanics. i also came across the same issue, the solution is something to do with either the wiring problem, or you need to go SC to clear off the debris inside.
*
Grrr damn bengang with the sound.. Only the driver side window got this problem.. The other sides all still ok.. Cose Cose.. Lu tunggu...

i am actually planning to buy a new car next year ( 1st quarter), according to the SA, i have to get a number plate for the new car before 25th ..... seems abit rush on things. ... i wonder.....

as for the high rev during gear change, i do not face any from my iswara. it just seems that the response is like 0.5 sec slower, the rev will keep on going even if i have already release the pedal . Can it be resolved?

Btw thanks for all the response. smile.gif
*
The SA need u to get a number plate by 25th dec is because the 2k discount only stands for cars registered before the 25th dec.. After that no more discounts ady..

Hmmm.. Not too sure about what u are saying, but probably it can be resolved with a new firmware update.. The problem u are mentioning sounds like the old problem b4 the update. Dont worry, ur new car will be coming with the new firmware.. Even my car which was manufactured in oct came with the new firmware ady.

QUOTE(tks068 @ Dec 19 2010, 06:11 PM)
hi there,

thanks for the reply,

i am no car experts so might explain wrongly  tongue.gif  tongue.gif .how should i say... i mean when i drive my old iswara, the car will not ""vrooom"" when i switch my gear. but it happens all the time when i drive either my sisters' saga BLM  or when i test drive the  persona. normally for old car such as iswara, when the i switch gear and loosen the pedal, the rpm will go down as no or less gas is provided into the combustion chamber. Simply put it, i stop stepping the pedal, the rpm goes down to 1k or less straight away. but for these new protons, whenever i switch gear , step  in the clutch and release the gas pedal, the engine will continue to go faster and faster for like 0.5 sec before it goes back to normal, so with no gear(as still switching) the engine will go loud and rpm  will shoot up to like 3k or so.  it is like i cannot get immediate response from the gas  pedal as i have in my old iswara.
hope i dont make you all asleep doh.gif  doh.gif

thx all for the help. notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

QUOTE(khtee @ Dec 19 2010, 06:14 PM)
old car = drive by cable ..... no ECU.....
new cars = drive by wire ... use ECU....

so ya.... alot of things relates back to how the ECU interpret wat u r trying to do... ECU controls alot of thigns like air flow.. and fuel flow (correct me if i m wrong)
*
Yeah old car is drive by cable.. Its all mechanical, u release the throttle, the throttle body closes at the same rate.. But drive by wire is controlled by the ECU.. And the ECU with the old firmware is slightly retarded.. So it takes 0.5sec to think should it ease of the throttle or not.. Then only it does.. And yeah the new firmware has eliminated the throttling when changing gear..

Car get a long scar at PJ..dunno who so childish go make it..
Anyway any idea can eliminate the scar? by wax & polish? Any recommend product recommend pls..  cry.gif

[attachmentid=1947916]
*
Ur scratch looks quite deep.. If im not mistaken u can see the white basecoat.. Waxing or polishing wont help at all..
If ur on a budget, get a small bottle of touch-up paint and paint it then get a clearcoat like Optiseal to repair it.. If u dont know how to get a clearcoat, just maybe buy touch-up paint, touch it up then go to polishing shop and ask them to wax till it shine..
