I am a noob at this.
I need a (somewhat) cheap way to record mah 360 games.
And yes, I am currently using the "camera on tv" thing. sad.gif

I don't have a budget (yet), so go ahead and post how you record you dominating fools on COD: Black Ops.

Man, this needs to be stickied so bad. If I had a dollar for everytime this was asked...
Yes, look for a video capture card, imo preferrably USB.
Off the top of my head, there's EasyCap, and Hauppage. The latter I think does HD with component/HDMI etc but it's insanely expensive, so brace yourself for SD quality.

Shoryuken forums are quite good for this, as people like to record online matches of Street Fighter, sometimes recording of tournaments etc.

Here is one of the forums:

The 'cheapest' method in my opinion, if you are playing on a console, is to go with camera on tripod route or any balanced surface, that captures the TV area well. Only drawback would be sound, which won't be perfect obviously.

If using phone cam, Joby makes some cool flexible tripods for various surfaces.

This is more difficult if you are playing on a PC, as normally you are sitting in front of the monitor, close up, so a bit difficult to get a clear shot of the monitor.
