Dude,it's not a big deal..it's not a problem, its just a reminder..it pops up when u turned off cellular data..just click 'ok' n that's about it..i echoed what Skylinestar said..no harm done..n FYI,it usually appears when viewing smses or writing smses(as far as my phone is concern)

Hi guys, really hope you can help me out with this. My phone died... would really appreciate your help, going into panic mode

Phone Generation : iPhone 3GS
Unlocked? (or Part Number): officially unlocked (Maxis)
Current Firmware : iOS 3.0
Current network: Maxis
iTunes Version : iTunes 9
PC/MAC : PC
Jailbreaking software : RedSn0w (not too sure about this)

Problem Encountered : I charged my phone to full last night, this morning woke up to find the battery is flat. Plugged it in to charge it again but the screen stays at the charging in progress logo for a very long time. Recently noticed that the battery meter stays at 100% for a long time even after extensive use, then will deplete quite fast. Now I can't turn on my phone  cry.gif

Steps Taken So Far : Pressed the home button and sleep button together, but screen just went black and then the charging logo came on again. Unplugged charger and re-plugged it in, same results.

Screenshot of Problem(if applicable) : Nil
Other Information/Remarks : Nil

This is my educated guess for your problem..i've encountered this problem with my brother-in-law iphone 3gs..my guess is when u jb your 3gs,it's a TETHERED jb..it means that u have to re-tethered jb(connect to pc) with the redsnow again everytime u turn off your 3gs. So,the solution are:

1) re-jb your 3gs again with redsnow software(google around or just ask the person who did the jb on your 3gs previously),

OR

2) simply restore your 3gs to the original ios,be it ios 3.0(if u have it) or update to the latest ios 4.2.1. REMINDER, use this option ONLY when u have tried every other option available at your disposal. It's because u MAY lose your contact numbers. but if u have backed up your 3gs in itunes recently, then this option is the most reliable.

It's my two cents..use it at your own risk

Problem is when phone are on that empty batt as I showed in my post I don't think iTunes can detect the phone. So your solution won't work

Thanks for your response, but i quote "spoke - Steps Taken So Far : Pressed the home button and sleep button together, but screen just went black and then the charging logo came on again. Unplugged charger and re-plugged it in, same results." This means his 3gs can be switch on but stuck at the logo.

The batt problem occurred the 1st time his 3gs went off n on it again. Don't know why it happened but nevertheless, something has drained its batt flat. So,when he@my bro-in-law try to switch it on,the low-batt pic (like the attachments)appeared..what i did was:

1) i recharge it normally using the ac outlet. I waited until it charged about 15 min approx. so that at least the iphone can be switch on(i.e. the logo will appear but will never enter home screen,it just stays like that)

2) as my bro-in-law 3gs was jb-ed with tethered jb(redsnow),i HAVE TO re-tethered jb again using its software.FYI,i didn't even bother trying the 2nd option on my previous comment.i only use that as a last resort.

3) the re-jb process is a bit complicated(complicated for this specific case, mind u) n i can't discuss it here..i just improvised when doing it(try n error)..the most important thing when doing this is "TIMING IS EVERYTHING"..n i'm sure JB community understand what i mean by that sentence..n ultimately, the phone 3gs is working normally again n then i restore it back to the original ios 4.2.1

p.s this is not discussion on jailbreaking..this is a solution of the said problem..as restore it with itunes is a failed attempt coz it can't boot to home screen(n u need that to connect itunes) smile.gif

That is a Application. And i think he means flash as in iOS.....
*
Now I don't know what u meant by that..doesn't he meant that "does iphone can view flash on websites?"..that's a yes.. sure it does not work like a PC@laptop would, but iphone CAN view flash items

Hi. Anyone here knows an App or function that allows 1-press and turns off all 3G, WiFi & Cellular Data? Press 1-time again and all this go back on (if can customize just on 3G & Cellular separate from Wi-Fi even better). Very troublesome to change settings all the time just to conserve battery.
*
The standard iOS doesn't allow this function unfortunately..i know,it's very troublesome n time consuming to open the 'Settings' app everytime u want to toggle the 3G,Cell Data n Wifi on n off..plus it's on different pages.

But with SBsetting,it's now possible..it's available in Cydia..u can toggle the 3 functions(plus others like location, brightness, bluetooh, etc) all in 1 swipe and in 1 page..fyi,jailbreak is not illegal (just in case u don't know)..AFAIK, there's no apps in appstore that can tweak these..until Apple willingly insert those 1-page-toggle function in its next iOS development n updates, there's no way u can do this without jailbreak..so,in the mean time,if u don't want to JB,then u have no other choice than tapping all the way to toggle these functions.

Current Firmware : 4.0.2
Current network: maxis 7.0
iTunes Version : 10.0.2
PC/MAC : pc
Jailbreaking software : limerain
Problem Encountered : low network coverage/ no signal, finding how to update the carrier
Steps Taken So Far :
Screenshot of Problem(if applicable) :
Other Information/Remarks : ignored the carrier settings update now trying to look for it again as it didnt show up anymore but dont know how. really think that if i update the carrier setting that would help the coverage be much better or is it something else is wrong? even if im in kl, i would only receive 2-3 bar of coverage. that is bad. please help thanks
*
It's best for u to update your iOS to 4.3.3(current) n jailbreak it using redsn0w rc16..when u update, the carrier update will commence thru after updated..n may i know, why didn't u update your carrier??fyi, current carrier version for maxis is 10.1
