i'm sorry if this is a dumb question but i still need confirmation from experienced users here.

i'm a Digi user and bought my iphone from Digi. So it's unlocked. Currently, i think the firmware is 4.1 and i get a notification from itunes asking me if i want to update to 4.2?

My question is, after updating, will i lose all my apps and game settings/progress?

in the FAQ, here's what is written

1. What is the meaning of Restore and Update in iTunes? (credit to frozzbyte)
A: iTunes provides two options to change the firmware on your phone. Restore and Upgrade.
A1: Restore is a full erase and reprogramming of your device. This will result in a factory fresh device. All songs and contacts are wiped out.
A2: Update will only wipe out the smaller disk partition leaving all your songs and settings intact. Update is only useful if you are trying to go from one version to the next version of firmware. It will not solve any problems on your phone unless they are naturally solved by the new firmware. I generally recommend using restore in all cases.



It only stated that update will wipe out disk partition leaving songs and settings only, what about application and games?

the problem is...some games like angry bird i already play up to many levels...once i do that..will it reset all my achievements?

If i understand what u mean, i right click on my iphone and click restore backup. Will that roll back my firmware as well?

Added on January 25, 2011, 1:33 pmIt works for me on iphone 2g... I think after connect u have to leave ur phone as it is... Then will pop up a web browser like page to key in username and password... I oredi have 3g on iphone so never try...

Dude... I tried today and it doesnt work on my iphone4 as well... Theres streamyx zone and another one is streamyx zone @ kfc... @ kfc works.... With the login page auto pop up after i select the wifi... The streamyx zone doesnt work though...

Saw a reply suggest disable auto login... Will try... I dunno where to set auto login...

Hi all, i tried to update to iphone 4.2 but download always stuck... Besides itunes where else i can download the firmware and manually update?

i've tried to take care of my phone as nice as possible, but it seems like the home button is the weak spot for scratches !!! i don't understand...it seems to be a very faint hairline scratches...only visible from certain angle with lighting...

grrrr......

sigh....

anyone knows if there's any type of polisher which can remove the scratches?

or memang no choice, just leave it like that?

i think our thumb or fingers not really smooth..or maybe my thumb.... can cause some very minor hairline scratches huh....

i am using Mail to access my gmail.... when i try to open the pdf file as attachment...it works...but seems like Mail is keeping a copy of the pdf file in my iphone?

is that true? how do i delete the file from my iphone cache? is that possible?

wanna ask something...i update my firmware to 4.3...seems like my Notes all disappear already...
but my sms and phone address still there.... so is there a way i can restore my notes?

guys...question... i realize that when i upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3 recently...my iphone notes gone altogether...i have to retype everything into my notes again...

my question is, is there a way for me to backup and save the notes and retrieve it easily? thanks

question... in the General Setting -> Restrictions...

what does that section do? By default, i disable that now...

make sure the water don't seep into the gaps...such as the home button area....or the water seep into the audio jack at the top...

usually i use a damp cloth to wipe also..but only on the screen area... handle with care!

i have 2-3 laptops and i tried to share the internet connection..it works on my 2 laptops but my other laptop, HP to be exact, simply cannot detect my iphone internet connection even in USB or in wifi mode...

in wifi mode...the connection was rejected after i key in the security WEP...any idea?

i need help here.... recently my hdd crashed...and my mp3 in my HDD all gone...the thing is...i still have the song in my iPhone...

how do i transfer the song back to my HDD? i can't find a way to do it...
previously...i add the songs in my music library and sync from PC to iphone...
now i want to do the other way around...
