Hi all,

Recently, I updated my iPhone 4, my wife's 3GS to iOS 4.3.1 through iTunes.
When everything is done, the phone rebooted properly but all my data and Apps was still there (*) even I haven't restore or re-sync the phone.
I thought I need to restore from backup or re-sync to get those data back? No?

The same thing happened again when I update to iOS 4.3.2 last night.

Is this normal?

* Only Cydia icon disappeared and I have to jailbreak again.

Checked the "About" page and it is indeed updated.

The reason I ask this because I'm afraid I had an incomplete update? blush.gif
As the 3GS seems to be draining battery very fast and "Usage" and "Standby" showing the same amount of time.
I have to randomly toggle switches around and sometimes it back to normal, then a few days later it strike again! sad.gif

I remember I had once "Restore" the phone and I have the option to choose either setup as new or restore from backup.
"Update" the iOS does not have these options?

Thank you. nod.gif

iTunes will automatically restore your apps and data after iOS update. It's normal.

By the way, does anyone have a solution on battery drainage issue on my 3GS?

I've done the following test so far:
• Turned off Push Notification
• Turned off 3G
• Turned off Cellular Data
• Turned off Wi-Fi
• Turned off Location Service
• No email account was setup
• Did the Reset Network Settings option

It is draining battery even I go into Airplane Mode!

im still got the problem of standby same as usage time...

- upgrade ios4.1 into ios4.2.1 before, about last 4months, then facing this problem... downgrade back into ios4.1.. problem solved.
- then after that push notification didnt work on wifi, upgrade the ios4.1 into ios4.3.2... push still not work on wifi and facing usage time same standby time problem.
- restore also didnt work..
- last week go into vacation and i ON cellular data all the time, push work fine , standby time problem also solved..

-after back from vacation, turn off cellular data as i on prepaid.

standby time problem reappear again

i think new ios need always connect to internet
i need to back on ios4.1.. cos that ios the most stable for me.. didnt give much problem.
*
I remember when the time I stick to 4.1, many apps in App Store are not supported... sad.gif
But anyway, I'm also considering going back to 4.1, but too lazy to do it, maybe wait a few more weeks... laugh.gif
You see, switching Carrier Data off we also losing MMS capability.
I tried edit the carrier.plist file, but still can't disable WAP data while keeping MMS. sad.gif
